I have stayed here for well over 40 years, since I was a child. Great memories. The entire hotel has been updated and is elegant and classy. The location in the French Quarter is perfect. The Carousel Bar is a must experience. Service was outstanding.

Steve,

It is rare that I would ever write a review of a hotel but I am doing just that now for my recent visit to your hotel. In short, my experience with your hotel from top to bottom was in one word “excellent”- From check in to check out the entire staff from the front desk folks, maid service, bell caps were all outstanding. I felt like a king at your place. Further, the breakfast buffet was “the best” buffet I have ever had, and I have a lot in my travels. The room was immaculate, quiet and the bed was better than Westin Heavenly bed (where I stay mostly) Now the work-out area... immacualtely clean and three words: WHAT A VIEW!

I never saw a ghost either… which was a big plus for me.. :)

I almost did not want to do this review as I don’t want word to get out as you may raise your rates.

Your hotel should be used as an example to others in your industry. Safe to say when I am back in NOLA you will see me again at your place.

Well done, sir.

Best regards,

Mark Gates

If anyone wants to stay in a wonderful hotel in the heart of New Orleans this is the hotel to stay at. It is in walking distance to all major attractions and nightlife. The staff treat everyone like they are special would not stay anywhere else.

Just returned from a girls trip to New Orleans and stayed at the Hotel Monteleone. The location is perfect, on Royal Street and one block away from Bourbon Street. Everything is in walking distance. The beds were some of the most comfortable I have slept in. The hotel is family owned and they take great pride in delivering excellent service, I would definitely stay at this Hotel again and recommend it hightly.

NOLA may not be your typical destination for a honeymoon, but my husband and I had a fantastic time! The staff at Hotel Monteleone were wonderful. They upgraded us to a very spacious corner suite and were all-around friendly! The rooftop pool has great views of the city and is a great place for afternoon cocktails. The bloody mary was delicious! We had fun exploring the different neighborhoods, enjoying local musicians and above all else - eating AMAZING FOOD!

My wife and I traveled down to New Orleans to stay for two nights at the Hotel Monteleone in early October. The city itself is fabulous: great food, great people, great atmosphere. I was hoping that the Hotel Monteleone would provide a great way to experience all the city has to offer.

The first thing that I can say is that this is a historic hotel somewhat reminiscient of a stay at the Hotel Del. The rooms, while nicely updated and furnished, still have different characteristics than the standard hotel rooms of today. That means odd shaped hallways, odd shaped bathrooms, different size standard rooms, and different architecture throughout. Some people will find this attractive while others will not. Be sure that you do not mind this feature before you book, as it could be a deal breaker for some. To myself, the hotel, especially the lobby and carousel bar, are amazing. I love the hisotrical feel and look of the hotel. The style is almost a shock to the senses after having spent so many nights in plain "modern" hotels. It should be mentioned that the hotel has done a nice job of maintaing the structure itself and has provided some modern ammenities (definitely use the workout room and roof-top pool, if only for the view).

The service itself is excellent. We were graciously assisted in every aspect of our visit, from check-in to check-out. There was always a helpful hand to help out. The servers at the restaurants were very good as well. While the Hunt Room Grill took a long time to serve the food (be prepared to slow down for a meal here, do not come if you are in a hurry!), the waitstaff was extremely gracious and the food was top-notch. Filet mignon and crab-stuffed shrimp were excellent.

The location is great as well. Just a jump away from Bourbon St. (without all of the noise) and located right off of Canal St. the hotel is very easy to locate. It should also be mentioned that the hotel is located on Royal St. which becomes St. Charles St., so it is very easy to hop on a street car and head off to the Garden District (which is fabulous).

Overall a very good trip. I booked the trip through LuxuryLink which I highly recommend. Great rates, great service, and a GREAT experience. This website and this hotel do not disappoint. I recommend both.

Just got back from a 4 night stay in mid Sept at Hotel Monteleone. The value was great. This time of year is the down season which is most likely the reason but stay 4 nights at $99 each night. This hotel is very nice, clean and in great location. The carousel bar is a nice touch as well. Would definitely stay here again. I can't believe the quality we got all around for the price we paid...
