My wife and I stayed at the Omni Crescent the last week of November, 2012. It was our first trip to New Orleans and we were leary of staying in the french Quarter. This hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to Canal and Bourbon streets. We felt safe in the area of the hotel although we weren't out real late at night. On our first day we found the desk staff a bit preoccupied and sort of rude to us, but from then on everyone was great. Very friendly and helpful and always spoke to us when we passed through the lobby. We ate breakfast in the restaurant our first morning and the food was good, but pricey for what we got. Our room was nice, clean and the furniture was good, but our king size bed left a lot to be desired. It seemed to have a dip in the middle, and if we didn't each stay right to our repective edges, we kind of rolled into the centre. After 5 nights my back was shot. All in all a good hotel, if you get a good bed. Probably won't stay there again as we didn't really like New Orleans very much.
