They do not have refrigerators in each room. We called a head a week before we arrived and reminded them we had one on our reservation and to please have it in the room. It took over 4 hours to get a a fridge. The beds were old, and they claim were double but it was the smallest double sized bed I had ever stayed on. They screwed our bill up, along with many others that day. Charges were pending, fell off, then reappeared for almost two weeks.

Good Day,

We appreciate your feedback from your recent visit with us at Westin New Orleans. I am sorry that you did not have an enjoyable visit, but we will work hard to improve based on your notes. We do have a refridgerator in each of our 41 suites, but unfortunately we do not have them in our standard guest rooms. At this time, our request items such as mini fridges, microwaves, and rollaway beds are delivered on a first come first serve basis once our guest are on property. Our rooms do have either two double sized heavenly beds or 1 king sized heavenly bed. I wish it had been a bit roomier for you and we are dissapointed that it was a less than heavenly.

We are adding additional inventory for certain request items that we are seeing more demand for such as mini fridges in order to specifically improve one of the items you have addressed.

I apologize that we were unable to deliver in a number of areas during your visit, but I know we will improve prior to your nexxt visit if given that opportunity.

Be Well,
Kenneth Jacques

I spent over a week here with my family while on business. The location is pretty good, a nice quick walk to most of the cool stuff like the aquarium, Bourbon Street, the Market, etc. But it's showing it's age, especially in our room. I would say they are due for a remodel. It was just more shabby than I think a Westin should be. Other than being run down, we had a good experience here. Oh yeah, don't miss the rooftop pool. You will get what I mean when I say a little shabby when you see the pool.

This is a very nice Westin Hotel. I think it's twin sister must be the Westin Oaks in Houston because the design and decor are nearly identical. Anyway, I thought it was a little weird that you had to go to the 11th floor to check in and then go to a second set of elevators to get to your room but we were only there for one night so it did not bother me too much. If I were going to stay for several nights that might get annoying.

As usual, the rooms were clean and nice. They could probably use an upgrade but the showers are nice with 2 heads for a relaxing, spa-like shower in the morning. The staff is extremely nice and helpful.

My only criticism is the pricing. We spent just over $250 for a queen bed room on a Friday night. I thought that was a bit rich. On the other hand, in my opinion, the location is excellent. We had several friends who suggested we stay at places more central to the french quarter and, while this hotel is on the edge of the quarter, it is close enough to walk to any of the good restaurants and bars located in the quarter yet far enough away to avoid all the late-night loud noise and shenanigans that sometimes goes along with the quarter.

We spent 10 days at the Westin in July. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We got there hours before checkin and they let us have our room early, even made sure we got a river view also overlooking French Quarter. There did seem to be a bit of a problem with the plumbing, odors coming from our commode… didn't want to complain because I figured all they could do was move us and we liked where we were.

Perfect location, street car stop right outside mall side of building (did I mention there is an upscale mall and movie theater attached?) easy 4 blocks walking to Jackson Square and Cafe Du Monde and Natchez Riverboat. Riverwalk mall outlet 2 blocks in opposite direction. Right across the street from Harrah's in the back and across the street from Audabon Aquarium in the front.
Beautiful lobby, fast elevators. Clean rooms, comfy beds. No micro or fridge :(. I would want to stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a river view.

Spotless room..comfy beds.. Large bathroom with double shower heads and view of Jackson square and the Mississippi river.
Parking is high but I looked around and it's more at nearby hotels..just stay in garage and walk or take trolley or train where you want to go. $3 for a day pass.
Will be back for sure

Being from the area, but now living in Houston, I go home quite often and I usually like to try a different hotel each time. New Orleans has a ton of historic, trendy, new, old, luxury, etc hotels all in different neighborhoods. Most of them are fantastic in their own ways. It all depends on what you're in town for and what you want out of your hotel.

The Westin has become one of my favorites for all types of trips for many reasons. I love the location - it is near Harrahs in between the Quarter and the CBD. You have convienent access to the Marigny, Quarter, Uptown, CBD and Warehouse District. Another reason is the high rise. Getting a quiet hotel is sometimes a problem in the city. Not here. I love how you check in on an upper level floor and take a different elevator to get to the guest floors. The bar and restaurant are on the check in floor and are very good.Another main reason is the service. Especially if you are a Starwood Preferred member, they will give you upgrades, points, free drinks, etc. even if you don't ask! Checking in/out is quick and everyone is always really nice.

Although I do love the occasional romp at the Monteleone, or hip scene at The W, the Westin is my fall back, go to, always can count on for a room and a smile, easy place. Love it!

Room Tip: All the rooms are pretty high up, but the higher you are, the better the view of the Mississippi :)

Location really is key with this property. A few blocks in one direction and you're in the French Quarter. A few blocks the other way and the CBD and Warehouse district beckon. You will be greeted with a warm welcome by a great bell staff the minute you step out of your cab.

The rooms are quiet and relatively large, but some of the furnishings are a bit worn, as are some of the public areas. A re-fresh of the elevators last year improved this somewhat.

The on-site restaurant is just ok which is a shame because the staff is generally good and the views unparalleled. Being in New Orleans, the standard is quite high for dining and the Westin falls a bit short here, but there are hundreds of options off-site for dining.

Location 5 stars
Quality of sleep 4.5 stars
Staff 5 stars
Facility 3.5 stars
Restaurant 3 stars

We've stayed here at least 5 times and the location and staff keep bringing us back.

Room Tip: A room on the French Quarter side will give you a panoramic view of the river as well as the Quarter...
