We stayed at the hotel for five beutiful days at the end of may, the hotel is situated two minutes slow walk from burbun street in th middle of th french quarter. Our room was a quite one and very comfortable. The hotel serves a nicebreakfast included in the price. The service at the front desk, bell boy and all other staff was excelent.

Room Tip: could not choose a better value for the price and beyond

The property is beautiful, but the noise levels at night are unacceptable. If you stay at this hotel and are given a room close to the street...RUN back to the desk and demand an interior room. This was BY FAR the noisiest hotel that I have ever stayed in. 3 sleepless nights at $300/night...I won't be back.

Room Tip: Interior! Interior! Interior! And even those can be noisy.

Ed,

Thank you for commenting on the beautiful atmosphere of our hotel. We are sincerely sorry to hear about the noise you encountered. We understand that our city can come alive at different periods of the night, which is why we offer guests the option to request interior rooms as an effort to alleviate this. We are sorry for your inconvenience, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again on your next trip to New Orleans.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights in May during Jazz Fest. We loved everything about it. The location was great, right in the French Quarter between Bourbon and Royal streets. We didn't have a car and never felt the need for one. I was concerned beforehand after reading some of the reviews that there might be a lot of street noise, but we did not hear it. We stayed in a room on the second floor on the courtyard and it was lovely. The room was spacious with a king size bed, there were double sinks off the bedroom, and a separate bathroom with walk in shower and toilet. It was all very very clean. We were provided with very nice bathrobes to use during our stay. The complimentary breakfast each morning had plenty of choices and was constantly being replenished. The front desk staff were all helpful, providing us with good options for transportation to and from the fest. We also enjoyed the 21st Amendment bar where we enjoyed excellent drinks and had good conversation with other guests and the bar tenders. The hotel price was a little high, but no more so than any other hotel during Jazz Fest. We will definitely stay here again.

We had booked a room for four nights at the Chateau Dupre Hotel, which turned out to be a major mistake. We moved after the first (awful!) night to the Hotel Mazarin and were delighted! Clean, comfortable, bright and cheery room, gorgeous courtyard, and cheerful staff!

When we walked in the front desk personnel were welcoming and helpful. They were interested in making our stay a pleasant one right from the start. They offered complimentary cocktails at the 21st Amendment*, a very nice cocktail lounge around the corner, and since we had a terrible experience in our previous hotel they offered us two cocktails each. Good start.

*A note about the 21st Amendment
This isn't your typical tacky, smelly New Orleans bar. It's clean and tasteful and the cocktails are imaginative and delicious. I compare it to 50/50 in San Francisco-- brilliant recipes creatively presented. Highly recommend it, unless you're a Bud Light guy, in which case it would be a waste.

I insisted on seeing the room before we accepted it. The bell staff was courteous and very nice. He showed me up to the room where I have to admit I marveled at the difference in accommodation from our last hotel. The spacious bathroom was clean and everything worked. Hairdryer. Clean white towels, bathmat, washcloths, robes and slippers.

One of the most beckoning, comfortable beds I've experienced with crisp linens and plush pillows and comforters. Complimentary bottled water and coffee. Chocolates at the bedside. Little refrigerator, large television, in-room safe that actually works. Never have I commented on the lighting in a room but the chandelier was lovely. And everything smelled fresh and clean.

We faced the center courtyard and a light sleeper might not appreciate the noise from other guests who stay up later talking and laughing in the courtyard, or the close proximity to the noise of Bourbon Street, but I didn't mind at all. Nor did I mind the sound of the earlier than me breakfast crowd.

Did I mention the breakfast? Included is a full American breakfast with pancakes, the best scrambled eggs I've ever experienced, sausage, bacon, grits, fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh juices, coffee, tea, full selection of breakfast breads… more that I didn't pay attention enough to recall. The staff was so friendly and nice and the courtyard was a beautiful place to start the day.

The fitness center rubber mats were off-gassing, making it less than ideal for a real workout. That is the only thing I can think of that wasn't ideal.

I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

The service was excellent. Staff pleasant and very attentive. The room wasn't particularly sound proofed which was a problem to my husband on Saturday night. Location was stellar and courtyard was inviting. They made parking easy with the valet service which was quick.

We enjoyed a romantic getaway here. The beautifully designed, classic rooms open on to a traditional NOLA shaded courtyard where breakfast is served. Staff is welcoming. The complimentary cocktail at 21st Amendment is a great first "taste" of New Orleans. A classy club with innovative cocktails. One if the quarters newest "hot" restaurants is R'evolution is tight across the street.

is how the staff at the Hotel Mazarin makes you feel as you walk thru the door. This was the first time we had visited this hotel, but they treated us like we were their best customer. The beds were comfortable, high end sheets, great pillows and welcome shower facility...plus the room air conditioning was QUIET and just the right temperature! The courtyard is something out of an old movie where you can sit quietly, yet the hotel is right in the middle all the action. Breakfast was included, with a menu that wanted you to go back for seconds. This is a definite repeat when we return to the Big Easy!
