“Great hotel, perfect location, good service”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

We couldn't have asked for a better hotel for a short getaway to NOLA. Our first room, while nicely appointed and quiet looking onto the back courtyard, had the smallest window ever, and no sunlight at all, which was more than I could bear. I asked right away if there was another room with a larger window, and was told all the windows were the same (not true) but I let it go for one night, to see if It would bother me. It did so much that we asked the next day if there was possibly another room for us. We were actually moved to a huge, upgraded room on the 4th floor, on the corner! It was perfect.

The Mazarin offers a full breakfast to guests every morning, and it was quite good. Eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, a very good fruit salad, fresh fruit, bagels, good coffee...def worth it (and I arrived before checkin on my first day, and they suggested I enjoy breakfast while they readied my room.)

Great location, a block from Bourbon St (far enough it was quiet), and two great bars on site (esp the 21st Amendment.) And a gorgeous courtyard with a fountain.

Room Tip: We first booked a petit king, which is smaller (but fine)...however, avoid room 211 unless you don...

Hotel Mazarin was nothing short of amazing. The location was perfect (close to Bourbon, but far enough to afford us some peace and quiet). Everything about the hotel was absolutely gorgeous, great place for a romantic excursion! I also recommend making reservations at G.W. Fins (approx. 300 ft away) for easily the best fine dining New Orleans has to offer.

I came to NOLA with my mother and two sisters; none of us had ever been to the city before. We stayed at the Hotel Mazarin because it came recommended from a family member. Fortunately, it lived up to the recommendation!
Mom and I shared a Petite King Suite (I think that is what it was called). We shared a king-sized bed and a black-marble bathroom, with plenty of space for the two of us. Truthfully, we were hardly ever in the room, but when we were, it was spacious enough, cool enough (temperature), and quiet enough, as we were on the courtyard. The whole hotel was kept clean and uncluttered.
The service we received was excellent; Larry, our bellman, could not have made us feel more at home. Gianni acted as concierge and did not lead us astray. We were given great restaurant recommendations and concise walking directions wherever we wanted to go. All we encountered were helpful staff who were quick with a smile and welcoming attitudes.
The courtyard was beautiful and shady, and our breakfast each morning was delicious and hot. We did not feel the need to have an expensive breakfast elsewhere!
Would we stay here again? Absolutely!

Room Tip: Definitely request an interior room.

Loved this hotel. Even though the front desk staff were not overly friendly, they were very helpful, professional, and courteous. I believe they were just extremely busy during our stay, as one day they did not have any bellmen for a little while and were "wearing two hats"; however they remained helpful when asked for assistance.

With that out of the way, let me brag on EVERYTHING else!

Outstanding housekeeping and bellmen. Shout out to Mr. Larry Cook!!!
Breakfast was wonderful and a great way to "start and/or recuperate" for a long fun day in NOLA. The service staff here were very attentive and kind.

Thinking about surviving a long, hot, fun day in NOLA: the fruit water was consistently refreshing and always flowing..... amazing!!!!

While the room was not large (most in NOLA are not), it was well laid out, clean and very functional. Great shower!

Also, do not be deterred by the fact that this hotel does not have a pool. The sister hotel is just on the next block and has a salt filtered pool. We went over to check it out and the front desk staff at that hotel was more than happy to allow us to use the pool, just by showing our Hotel Mazarin room key.

Fantastic value! Will gladly stay here again!

Hi Alysa Q,

Thank you for your review! We know our guests could potentially be doing a lot of walking, so we take breakfast very seriously! And, we are glad that you noticed you could easily swim at our sister hotel's, the Hotel le Marais', pool. We sincerely hope we get the opportunity to welcome you again soon!

This was the first time staying at this hotel, but will not be the last. We enjoyed everything about it. Room was very nice, very clean, and bed was comfortable. Our only complaint is that the breakfast buffet was not hot enough. It is close enough to walk just about every where and there are many GOOD restaurants nearby. We will be back!

We live locally but take mini trips to the French quarter several times a year. We love visiting different hotels. Therefore this was the first but not last stay at the Mazarin. As soon as we arrived they were hosting a wedding in the courtyard. Gorgeous!!! Lit up with candles flowers adorning the fountain. Anyways, we requested a room on a higher floor due to the location of the hotel. Right in the heart of the quarter between Bourbon and Royal street. Our room was lovely. Big king comfy bed, large closet, and nice size room. Being so close to the action you would think the noise would be a problem. As soon as we shut the door Total serenity. Every morning they offer a large full breakfast leading out to the courtyard. No plastic utensils or paper plates here . Always fresh and hot every morning. Can't wait to visit again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back left corner on a upper floor to avoid noise. We parked our car around the...

We go to New Orleans often and discovered this hotel and have been to many others over time. From the valet to the front desk to the restaurant the people that work here are outstanding. The rooms are spacious modern and comfortable. I dare anyone to be disappointed with this place. This is the only hotel for us to New Orleans
