“Romantic Hotel with Class”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

My wife and I went for a long weekend. Mazarin staff was excellent. Every person was very freindly and eager to do whatever needed to be done (such as stand in pouring rain to try to get us a cab). Rooms very clean, nicely furnished. However, beds are a little soft. Lower back hurting each morning. Great location. But, be warned, you are only 1/2 block from Bourbon. People coming in at all hours of the night, and they can be loud... Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a romantic weekend.

Hi m6_traveler,

We are delighted to hear that you had an excellent time with us. Customer service is very important to us, so if that means going the extra mile to make sure you get a cab quickly in bad weather, we’re on it. We do understand that our area of the French Quarter can get a bit noisy, but we offer earplugs for any guest in need! Just ask our front desk agent for a pair on your next visit!

This beautiful hotel is nicely located in the French Quarter, close to everything we wanted to go to. The rooms were spectacular... loved the marble floors! I took my daughter and my two granddaughters to New Orleans for a mini vacation. This hotel was very easy to get to; the price was right; the staff was extremely friendly and helpful; the service was great; the breakfasts every morning were scrumptious... and perfect for two teenage girls. I was a little worried being as close to Bourbon Street as we were, but we did not hear any noise as our room faced the beautiful inner courtyard and I also felt perfectly safe. I simply cannot say enough good things about this hotel and I encourage anyone coming to New Orleans to certainly look into staying here. Whether you're a family or adults only, you won't be disappointed!

We loved Hotel Mazarin! We found it to be a great value- very beautiful hotel room, great complimentary breakfast, excellent location in the French Quarter just off Bourbon Street, all for a very reasonable price.

Hotel is conveniently located in the French Quarter, and within an area that is deemed safe. Hotel check-in was uneventful, and without any explanation of what the hotel had to offer, i.e. hours breakfast would be served, hotel bar hours, etc. Had to find this information out on our own. Room was beautiful, with shiny tile floors and very nice furniture. Bed was too soft for my tastes. Bathroom, too, was very beautiful but not very functional. There are no racks to hang wet towels. Extra toilet paper and hair dryer were eventually found in a hall closet. Plenty of bottles of cold water were provided. Needed to ask for regular coffee, after the room had been cleaned. Cleaning existed of making the bed...no actual cleaning was done.

Hi Linda M,
We are disheartened to hear that your stay with us was less than amazing. Our front desk team typically goes over breakfast hours and any information guests might need, so we have definitely shared your feedback with them. We take guest satisfaction very seriously, and we assure you we have addressed these issues with our staff. We hope you give us the chance to host you again on your next trip to New Orleans.

I hate to give away great places but I have to commend this hotel. You don't often find perfection in hotels anymore. Loved the Summer in the City special - great deal! This hotel and staff made us feel so welcome everyone was so nice, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was unbelievably great. Gorgeous hotel and wonderful ambience with the courtyard. We felt like we were staying at an old New Orleans mansion with family. Quiet - very convenient to everything. We will be back.

The other reviewers are correct, it is lovely. Can't deny that. The room was a decorators dream. All marble floors, interior shutters, very fancy. The other side of the story is that the all marble floors are slick. The bathroom is gorgeous but there really isn't a shower door so the water goes all over the place. Beds are too soft. The interior shutters are great-but there are no curtains so they don't keep the light out. We had specifically asked for a room with a balcony court side but got a street side room instead. This is not a smoker friendly hotel. Most places have a designated smoking area, which I am happy to use and agree is a necessity. This hotel has one...that is locked early morning and late at night. Only one elevator for this five story hotel. Breakfast was provided, and it was top notch. The award winning wine bar is OK, if you can catch the on duty bartender who is always elsewhere. Probably will not stay there again.

Room Tip: Do not book here if you are a smoker.

We love this place. It is the hidden gem of the French Quarter. Beautiful rooms, security on site, a beautiful courtyard, friendly helpful staff, a great breakfast and for being right off of Bourbon St super quiet. Also Patrick's Bar Vin attached to it is an amazing bar too.
