Such amazing treatment! The bell men & hotel staff greeted us by our names. They connected us with amazing restaurants. We choose to upgrade to a beautiful suite. Maurice & Darren were wonderful. They let me tour the rooms before I pick what upgraded suite. Loved my big bath tub! We loved our trip so much we are staying here again for Mardi Gras. My only issue was the housekeepers one day.

Room Tip: Windows without a balcony don't open. All the rooms are beautiful

The hotel is on Bourbon which is cool if you want to be in the center of the bar district. Otherwise, the rooms are priced with and with Club service. The service was for breakfast and dinner. Nothing fancy about the food. The rooms are supposed to be better in the R Club. I wouldn't know because our room was on 6 and it was a small no frills room. I previously stayed at the Ritz and had the same concierge service and the Ritz was far better for the money. If you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere.

While the location and the lobby are nice, the rooms are small and outdated. The ceilings are low and the decor dates from the Reagan era.

If you're looking for a convenient and comfortable crash pad while on a party trip to New Orleans, this is a good place to stay. There are probably better options if you're going to be sober for most of your time in New Orleans.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us on your recent trip to New Orleans. While we’re glad that you enjoyed our hotel’s convenient location and lobby’s comfortable ambiance, we are disappointed that our accommodations were not what you expected. We appreciate your bringing these important observations to our attention, which will be addressed in our upcoming renovation. Our 3rd floor guestrooms have been recently renovated and we have plans to renovate the remaining hotel guestrooms later this year. We hope you will consider revisiting us in New Orleans and one of our Sonesta Collection hotels located throughout the United States.

The location is perfect if you want to be in the French Quarter and close to the action; when you walk out the front door of the hotel, you are on Bourbon Street. The hotel’s lobby area is beautiful, as are the courtyards and the outdoor pool. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable, although we didn’t spend much time there! All of the staff were great from front desk staff, concierge, servers, and housekeepers. The hotel is home to Irvin Mayfield’s Jazz Playhouse, which offers live music nightly – a must see. There are two restaurants and a coffee café as well as a bar along Bourbon Street and at the pool. The hotel is within easy walking distance to many attractions including Jackson Square, Royal Street, the French Market, Saint Louis Cemetery No. 1, and Canal Street. The Musical Legends Park is right across the street and has free music pretty much all the time. There is no question that we would stay here again whenever we’re back in NOLA!

After having reviewed all the photos & review, I really did want to blown away by this place. While it's location in the French Quarter is perfect, and the lobby was just lovely, the rooms were another story. Firstly, I am relatively certain that they do not have the same definition of a queen bed as I do. Due to the limited amount of rooms on a group trip, we were sharing a room with another couple (not the hotel's problem), which wasn't a real issue for us. What was disappointing was the room size and the bed size. There were two glorified twin beds in the room, with hardly any space to move around in the room at all. It would have been tight with just two of us. I realize this is the French Quarter & space is at a minimum, but it was downright uncomfortable. Next, the bathroom needs totally gutted & replaced. The mold in the shower was inexcusable, as were the deteriorating & moldy drop ceiling tiles in the shower. Next, while we did not expect peace & quiet here, the noise from doors & voices in other rooms was incredibly loud. And to cap it all off, our room overlooked some sort of dilapidated house that literally had toilets strewn about the overgrown yard. What a shame. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, but the place just doesn't live up to the hype.

Room Tip: If you can spring for it, get a suite of some sort.

Me and a girlfriend stayed here in August for four nights. Neither of us had ever been to NOLA and I did lots of tripadvisor research to find the perfect hotel for our trip. I got an amazing deal on this hotel, it came to about $450 total for the four nights we were there. We shared a room facing the courtyard/pool which was perfect. We asked for a quieter room, and the room was great, we did not hear any of the noisiness from Bourbon.

The hotel was nice, clean, had a great little coffee shop, and the pool area was lovely. The whole hotel was super cute, and we really enjoyed it. Everyone we encountered was super nice and friendly at the hotel as well.

The location can't be beat. We wanted some place that would allow us to walk to everything, and this locations couldn't be better. We would go out very late each night and always felt safe walking back and were able to make it back to the hotel within 5 minutes or so.

I would definitely recommend Royal Sonesta if you're looking for somewhere to stay in NOLA, especially if being close to all the action is important to you. Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: The rooms facing the courtyard/pool are quiet, whereas the rooms facing Bourbon are louder.

Great location, great hotel and wonderful staff. The R club on the 7th floor is definitely worth the extra.......Hotel room was clean and very well appointed, Internet access was quick, staff were extremely helpful. The location on Bourbon Street was impressive what was more impressive was that once inside the hotel you could not hear the noise from the street.
