We decided last minute to book a quick two-night trip to New Orleans for the Crescent City Blues and BBQ festival weekend (Oct. 19-20) and were looking for a reasonable rate in a nice French Quarter hotel. We had stayed at the Prince Conti more than 20 years ago and were happy with it, so we decided to go back. We were not disappointed.
The location is just off Bourbon Street, but our room, which overlooked Conti Street, was very quiet. Though the room could use a tiny bit of updating, it was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The king bed was perfect for us, neither too firm nor too soft. The shower had great water pressure and the bathroom was spotless. The café was fine enough for grabbing a quick breakfast on the way out the door.
But what we really like about the Prince Conti is the staff. Friendly and willing to go the extra mile from the very first phone call to our good-byes at check-out and whenever we went out or returned, the staff greeted us with a smile and a few kind words every time. I mentioned we were celebrating a wedding anniversary while in town, and a bottle of French bubbly was delivered to our room the first night with a card and note from the staff.
I’m sure we’ll return again and will not let so much time elapse next time!
