My friend and I traveled to New Orleans for our 50th birthday celebration. We read the reviews and I knew this was an older hotel and that we had an interior room with no windows. There was, however a skylight directly over my bed - the only way to close that off was a very old pull across shade, that I had to stand on the bed to close.
The room was very old, as was the bathroom but everything was clean. The bed was very comfortable.
It would be a huge improvement if they supplied some phone charging outlets on the shared night table. we had to crawl under tables to find outlets that could accommodate our phones, and my phone was no where near me as I slept. Not a tragedy, but a convenience I am used to when I travel.
There were two closets which was really nice.
The location was very accessible to everything - they are doing major construction on part of Bourbon Street right by our hotel - it was only during the day, but a small inconvenience when we walked and a bit of an eyesore.
The French Quarter is great shopping and walking during the day, and total debauchery at night. If you don't want to be near that, you shouldn't stay in the French Quarter! There are other nice neighborhoods.More
