Myself and 3 of my best girlfriends went to NOLA for a girls' weekend trip 2 weeks ago, and we stayed at the Hotel St. Marie. It's a lovely little boutique hotel with a cute lobby, nice little patio/cafe area, and a decent restaurant. We stayed in a "Street View Room" with 2 queen beds. The room itself was a pretty standard hotel room.

Pros:
-- Our room was spacious enough for 4 women and all of our stuff

-- Comfortable beds

-- Little patio which overlooked the street, which made for some pretty awesome people watching

--The restaurant was tasty, albeit a little overpriced. The little cafe had coffee, pastries, and bottled soda and water. it was also pretty overpriced, but it was very convenient.

-- The pool area was nice! Lots of little bistro tables and foliage. The pool wasn't really anything special, just a standard hotel pool.

-- LOCATION! This hotel was only a few blocks from Bourbon St. and everything else we wanted to do. We only had to take a cab once, and that was to go somewhere specific away from the French Quarter to catch a show. Everywhere else, we walked and it was great.

CONS:
-- The bathroom door in our room was not a solid wooden door. Instead it had slats from top to bottom that made bathroom privacy almost nonexistent. The door also didn't have a lock.

-- Our hotel room door had 2 locks, one of which was broken. There was also not a chain on the door, which I prefer to have in hotel rooms.

-- Noise. One night, the sanitation department decided to do their collections at 2 in the morning. They were down on the street outside our room for about 30 minutes. It was annoying.

-- Supplied toiletries. LADIES! They only provide you with a bottle of "conditioning shampoo", so if you have long hair, be sure to bring your own conditioner!

-- Since there were 4 of us, we each pretty much needed a power outlet for ourselves (phone + tablet). We wound up having to unplug the alarm clock and a lamp so we'd have enough plugs. If you're traveling in a group like we were, bring a power strip!

This also definitely seems like a "party" hotel, which was fine with us. While we were there, there was a group of guys to our right on a bachelor party, and to our left another group of guys in town for a wedding. We chatted with them while out on our respective patios. So I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you're looking for quiet relaxation. On the plus side however, the rooms had thick walls as we didn't hear anything from either side while in our room.

All in all, a great pick for the price if your goal is to go to NOLA with some friends for a good time. If you're looking for something more quiet and/or romantic, I would go with someplace else. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Street View rooms have great people watching!

I loved, loved, loved this hotel. Warm, charming, delightful and a great location. HOWEVER, if you need a fancy hotel, this will not suit you. It is more charming than modern, and I think the lighting in the rooms could have been better for work (which I had to do while there). The room had a table, but no desk.

However, from this lively, convivial spot, I ventured forth each day and night to explore the French Quarter, happy to return to this warm spot of light when my day (or evening) was over.

Lovely place. I will (gladly) be back!

The carpet, wallpaper, tablecloths, chairs have all seen better days. This hotel must have been splendid years ago but now it is looking tired. Room service was only just adequate...bedside tables not wiped.nor was the carpet vaccuumed even once during our one week stay. The linens were changed regularly and bathroom was stocked and cleaned quite nicely. Balcony does not have furniture to sit on. It is very narrow and only one half of french door opens so that chairs from room won't fit through the opening. The hotel is located next to a convenience store on dauphine street that made a breakfast egg, bacon, cheese sandwich on a nice clean grill and for cheap. Appreciated the coffee and coffee maker but would have loved to have a fridge. The only ice machine is located on the main floor! Staff was helpful and reservations were handled perfectly. The price is high but I am told it is actually a good price for the location. It is close to the action and a very reasonable walk to rampart street for city bus or to the river for the cable car at toulouse station. We also appreciated the wifi and the access to the computer anx printer in the lobby area to check in for our flight and book our boarding passes.

Hotel St Marie is a quaint hotel with an exceptional staff near the action in the French Quarter. We had a large room in the annex which combined the rustic look of the old brick construction of the neighborhood with the comfort of modern design. In addition to a nice sitting area, our bath room was enormous. The room had all amentaties including refrigerator and microwave and the bed was absolutely top scale. Security in the building was modern and made us feel totally at ease. The staff made us feel right at home ftom the valet, to the bus staff to the front desk. They were very helpful and knew how to advise us on how to make the most of our short trip to NO. The hotel has a bar, restaurant and dining room which are wonderful. The best that New Orleans has to offer is within walking distance. When we come back to the 'big easy' this is where we will stay.

Could the wallpaper use a little TLC? Yes!
Would it have been nice if there was a refig? Yes
Could the walls use a fresh paint? Yes
BUT!!!
All of that can be over look BECAUSE THIS PLACE IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER FROM BOURBON STREET! It's the prefect location. You turn the corner and BAM the fun start. You walk back to your hotel and BAM it so quiet.

We got a balcony view to the street, which was worth it. Our bed was so comfortable and the coffee pot in the room was such a plus for us! The staff were so nice. Once you close your balcony door you couldn't hear the noise from bourbon street. This place is great.
Love, Love, Love it.

Room Tip: oh, there were a few grip about the room is either too cold or too hot. That part was true. That a/c...

What a perfect hotel! Our room was nicely decorated with a view of the French Quarter. The hotel is only a block from Bourbon Street-convenient to the action but a peaceful retreat. The courtyard is very nice. Tonya was pleasant and helpful at check-in. The beds were very comfortable, and I liked that the room had a coffee pot. We were traveling back from Vegas to Florida and got the "on-a-whim" deal. What a great value! We thought the room was worth more than twice what we paid. We plan on staying here again. Parking is $28 but is quick and convenient, and you have access to your car.
