Had a very good experience-- stayed there prior to our cruise. The Cruise terminal is quite close which was good as it was only a short walk even with luggage. My only complaint was the cost of a nights stay during Jazz Fest was double what their typical rate is.

this is a bustling convention hotel but they are pleasant and helpful and I must praise the restaurants--the buffet breakfast is amazing and for lunch even in a city known for food the po boy came with more than a dozen oysters and 4 handfuls fried potatoes I asked for sweet--way too much to eat so share with a friend sauces to dip are always there----the rooms are very nice and I had a river view -ask and hope-lots going on out the window--it is clean and nice-quite a hike though bring comfortable shoes if you are not in the main tower

The Hilton Riverside is a very average property. It's showing it's age and is in real need of a refurb.

The rooms are old and the décor is quite tatty. That said it was perfectly clean and the bed was very comfortable, so I did have a pleasant, restful stay.

Located within 15min walk of Bourbon St & the French Quarter, there's plenty of places to eat & drink, so we didn't try any of the onsite restaurants. The bar was fine though.

Take it for what it is and you'll be fine. Don't expect luxury or 5* service, treat it as a place to lay your head and you should have a decent stay.

Initially put in a tired old room overlooking the Riverwalk…and the nearly round-the-clock construction on the Riverwalk the hotel staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating in relocating us to a room away from the noise and on a floor that clearly had been recently renovated. Make sure to ask for one of the renovated floors.

Stayed at Hilton New Orleans Riverside for three nights during the Jazz week. Nothing special, really. Location is a tid bit sleazy for my taste. Very convenient flat rate cab ride from the airport.
Wonderful airy and well-equipped health club on the first floor.
Management may do good by re-emphasizing the importance of cleaning common areas, e.g., hallways and elevators.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms are quieter

Our stay at the Hilton Riverside was prior to a cruise out of the Port of New Orleans. This hotel is truly within walking distance of the port, and can be walked. The location for visiting anything within the French Quarter is excellent and can be walked. The room selection we chose was an executive suite facing the river, and was a very adequate, quiet and clean room. The room and the bath had sufficient outlets for anyone's need. Breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres were a part of the package, as was parking. Coffee, tea, soda, fresh fruit, and cookies were available at any time. Check was quick and the staff very pleasant. Elevators to the upper levels are separate from those serving lower levels, and they are fast.
The hotel has a decent workout center, which includes handball courts and simulated golf room. There were many conference rooms, a retail shop, a Starbuck's, and restaurant onsite.
We would certainly choose this hotel again.

Room Tip: Can only go by what we had - upper floor, river view - nice!

This was our second stay at the Hilton Riverside, both times for Jazz Fest. I think this hotel has the best location for a tourist, which is really one of the most important factors for me. Harrah's is right across the way if you like to gamble, and the French Quarter is a very short walk away (a positive to not actually stay in the quarter, imho) The only reason we ever got our car was to go to Jazz Fest, otherwise we were able to walk everywhere. The rooms are updated and clean, and the staff was very responsive. Drago's restaurant is in the hotel, with a very large bar area, which is great. My only complaint is that parking is very pricey. I assume it runs w/ the market, but $42 a day to valet is a bit steep. Though, on a positive, the valet were super quick every time we needed out vehicle. We will more than likely stay here on all our future visits to New Orleans.
