Hampton Inn New Orleans - St Charles Ave / Garden District

This hotel is a very classy hotel with such a beautiful atmosphere. It gives you a true sense of the historic Garden District of New Orleans, & having the trolley cars running in front gives you the convenience to park once you arrive & hop on to go wherever you need & never have to drive. It is very nice to have all of the local favorite restaurants surrounding the hotel for walking distance of almost any type of meal. Overall it is a great place to go as a couple, as a family or just for your own private get-away. Having such a great complimentary breakfast also allows you to not have to leave early to venture out unless you are wanting to. This hotel is a must if you want a great taste of the city.

The front desk personnel are all wonderful - thank you, Brandy and Dawn! The breakfast is standard Hampton (good!), but the lobby space in which it's provided makes it exceptional. The way they have it set up makes everything easy access, even with a full hotel, and there's plenty of room to sit inside or out in comfy patio chairs. The location is ideal: there is a streetcar stop at the corner, and having the parade route outside the front door is perfect. Our rooms (we had 4) were all immaculate, and the beds were very comfortable with good quality sheets. So relaxing - even during Mardi Gras! We will definitely return!

Room Tip: St. Charles rooms cost a bit more, but worth the ambiance. Love hearing the streetcar ramble by!

We have stayed at this hotel many times before including during some crowed times. We were here during a Tulane graduation and this time for Mardi Gras. It is very conveniently located in uptown but is on the trolley line so it is very easy to go down town. It has a free gated parking lot for guests which is a plus for us since we drive our car here. The rooms are comfortable, the hot breakfast is good and the free in room internet is fast. Other reviewers have complained about noise. I have not found that to be a problem. We did hear some children in the hallway but none after dark

Whatever you do, don't stay in room 601, which is adjacent to the elevator mechanical room. Beginning around 6, you will be awakened by the motors running almost constantly, on and off, on and off. Very audible in the room. Front desk staff didn't honor my Hhonors preferences to be away from elevator and didn't seem to care. Blamed it on Mardi Gras, when it had nothing to do with that. Gave them a chance to fix it and still no adequate resolution.

This hotel is in a central location right on the trolley line. You have easy access to the entire city. The hotel is clean and extremely comfortable. The breakfast was good. I would stay here again. There was also an evening snack included--cheese and fruit. The pool and terrace area was very nice. The hotel also had free parking in a gated lot.

Stayed over the President's day weekend & All Star Games, so I used HH points, which helped against high room rates on cash, because of the demand.

Room was clean and comfortable: large beds, firm enough mattresses, free wi-fi, good quality toiletry, complimentary breakfast featuring traditional omelette, boiled eggs, sausages, cereals, fruits, yogurts, waffles, etc. Even I was late for breakfast the staff was kind and offered me something to go.

The uptown location is really a nice neighborhood, the street car / trams is a convenient choice to go FQ (3 USD a day pass, trams coming every 20 min or so).
