We stayed here on December 12, 2012 our fist night in Chiriquí Provence's Volcan community. It was quiet, the gardens were beautiful, however they were doing renovations. Some dust was in the room but overall for the price is was a comfortable place to stay, The food was good and they were very friendly and helpful. My favorite part was the gardens. Lovely flowers, a rushing stream flowed right outside the room through the garden.

Room Tip: Ask for extra pillows!

I stayed there this past January with my fiance and absolutely loved this hotel! It has the most amazing scenery, the rooms are comfortable and the wooden walls gives them a really rustic touch. There is no AC but at night it gets cold so you dont really need it. You can listen to the sounds of the two small rivers surrounding the property. Such a relaxing place to stay at! The personnell is really nice and the food at the restaurant was surprisingly good! The hotel is really close to the "Sitio Arqueológico Barriles" an important site of pre-columbian culture! I would definitely recommend this hotel and if we are ever back in town, we would stay there again in a heartbeat! The only thing they need to improve is their website!

This is a rustic hotel with beautiful grounds. We were with a birding group which stayed here three nights and had rooms on the upper level. The room had two double beds that were very comfortable. They have satellite TV and very good wifi. Two things to note though, the walls are paper thin so don't talk in a normal voice while in the room as your neighbors will hear every word and take a shower before the main rush because the hot water will run out and so will the pressure of the hot water. We ate our dinners in the hotel restaurant and were very please with the food and service. The pizza was very good. So my wife and I can recommend this hotel if you are coming to Volcan.

Our group stayed here for two nights. We were fortunate to have rooms on the upper level which give you a perfect view of the volcano and surrounding mountains. The gardens, with a small river running through it are beautiful, and perfectly groomed. The rooms are quite rustic, with squeaky wood floors, which I imagine could be annoying if you are on the first floor. There were no English channels on the TV--but who needs TV in such a lovely setting. If you want opulence, this is not the place--but if you want a quaint place to enjoy the beauty of nature, its a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Get a room on the upper level--better views, and no creaky floors above you.

If youre looking for a piece of paradise you will find it at Dos rios! from the moment we saw dos rios at the side of the road we were stunned by how beautiful the gardens were and the view of the volcano is def the best in town! we wanted to rent a room at bambito but they were completely booked so we got Hotel Dos rios in the town of volcan. Trust me, waking up to the view of the volcano was priceless and i dont think any 5 star hotel in the area can beat that. The gardens are very well mantained and theres 2 streams of water that run thru the property so you can hear nice it from every point of the hotel. If you like birds and butterflies this is the place for you.
We rented rooms with 2 double beds, nice size rooms, a little rustic but its to be expected in a mountain hotel, hot water, cable tv and good speed free wifi. the suites are marvelous! with a private balcony where u can have breakfast. They included a continental breakfast whcih is no more than cereal and juice or a toast and thats it.. kinda dissapointed there but theres plenty eateries round, which we didnt find in cerro punta as everything is kms away from bambito.
The rest at the hotel was the only dissapointment for us, the first day we tried to have lunch there but the waitress never came to our table, finally i got up to get some menus and we waited 20 mins and no one came to help us. the food was overpriced! so dont even waste your money, we found a great place, nice and cheap, great quality food just 3 mins driving back into the town of volcan, it was called kids world i believe, its a nice rest with an arcade room for your kids if u have any, we had 2 so it was great to let them play while the food was getting ready..they also have pool tables and a cute garden..the food was delicious as well. The hotel has a small bar but seems to be the place in volcan cuz it was packed everynight! we had an awesome time there too, just try to book one of the last rooms,it could get a lil noisy
You will make the right desicion if you book this hotel..worth every penny!

Room Tip: Book rooms on the second floor as the wooden floor is loud. Dont eat in the hotels rest, drive downtown volcan and youll find several rest.
