It is beautiful!!! We went on Memorial Day weekend, so it was probably busier than normal. It is beautiful! You can walk around the lake on a trial (gravel). My children loved climbing the rocks- and there are lots of places to climb! Lots of families were having picnics. Some families had set up hammocks and were just relaxing. There are also also numerous trailheads that start by Sylvan Lake.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Sylvan Lake but it was beautiful! We sat and had a picnic lunch then walked around the lake. The views just got better as we walked. If you do walk around, just note that a stroller will not be beat and there is rocks and terrain. It’s definitely not hard but with having an infant we had to switch from the stroller. I would most certainly recommend for anyone to visit.

When I saw the photos on the TripAdvisor site for this location, I added it to our list of places to visit. The photos were unreal and I figured they were done professionally.

You can’t take a bad picture here...it’s so beautiful. It looks like a made up sci-fi screensaver! Nice 1.5 mike trail takes you around this wonderful place.

So devastatingly gorgeous and pristine! Between the crisp and clear azure waters and the stunning scenery, you'll never want to leave this beautiful place! The wonderful trail around the lake also offers some really breathtaking sights! If you continue down into the gorge there are some nice cool areas with pretty waterfalls, as well. Be sure to hike the Harney Peak Trail from Sylvan Lake. It's a very beautiful hike especially if you make a loop out of it by taking the #4 trail on the park brochure up the mountain and the #9 trail all the way down. The rock formations on the #4 trail are magnificent and up close (Cathedral Spires). The tower up on Harney Peak is well worth visiting as the views are so spectacular! Just drop dead gorgeous.........
