I can't think of anything else to describe this place other than "hospitable". It is such a warm, welcoming, embracing forest with an abundance of life-giving natural beauties...

A driving tour of this area should be included when you are seeing America. Beautiful, unspoiled vistas with crystal clear lakes and streams. Roads can be curvy but are worth the drive.

I would highly recommend this park for hiking or just drive around and stop at one of inumerous lookouts. The area is clean and safe. The hiking trails are easy to follow,

My wife & I have visited The Black Hill nine times in as many years. I suppose that qualifies us to say what we think. This is truly one of the most gorgeous places that we have ever visited. The hills look a little different each year, and it is well worth the trip from Pennsylvania. You can spend weeks out there and not get bored. We still manage to find new attractions. The people of South Dakota have truly struck gold.
