We got here a bit later but had a wonderful warm welcome. Great hosts. Very pet friendly! Sites are semi-private and level. Wonderful free HOT showers. We will stay again for sure. Only 30 min from Mt Rushmore.

We spent 4 nights in our pop up and found the grounds to be very nice and the spaces to be quite spacious. The owners were very friendly. The bathrooms were clean including the showers. It rained quite a bit damaging some of the roads which were repaired as soon as the rain stopped. The owner apologized for the noise (7 pm) but we took it that they just cared for their grounds. We would definitely go back.

My husband and I arrived at Big Pine in Custer, SD 6/13/14 we put up our tent and stayed for 3 nights, this is a very nice camp ground close to the town of Custer and surrounding areas. This is a very clean camp and quiet, the showers are very nice and clean as well. The owner's seemed very friendly. If we had a complaint it would be that for tent campers the bathrooms should be located closer to the tent campers since most of the RV's and camp trailers have a bathroom, however this is not the current owners fault, that's how it was set up years ago. But that doesn't mean we wouldn't come again..

Happy campers

We recently spent 4 nights at this campground and were very impressed. It was quiet, and a convenient location. The restroom/shower was so clean and nice to use. The owners, Ron & Angie were very nice. Would recommend this campground to anyone going to the Custer Area.

Our only destination when camping near Mt. Rushmore/Crazy Horse/Custer State Park! We've been camping at Big Pine for several years... New owners/hosts Ron & Angie Blank are the best, we love them! They are friendly, knowledgeable about the area and the all the places and things to see and do. The campground is nice and clean with very clean flush toilets where you would expect a vaulted toilet. Bathrooms/shower rooms are spotless! Campsites are roomy w/several pull thru sites, lots of shade, w/wild life meandering through the grounds. We love Custer State Park and used to stay at hotels in Custer or Rapid City depending on availability, now we have a motor-home and stay exclusively camp at Big Pine when in the area. Thank you Ron & Angie!

We stayed five nights in this very nice campground while visiting the area. Great owners/hosts know the area well and suggested some things to do we had not thought to do such as visit Mammoth Site (it was awesome!). At their suggestion, we selected site 52 when making our reservation about 3 months out – I think it’s about the best site there. It’s a large pull-thru with a large “living” area. What’s nice too is that it is at the top (back) of the park and therefore has little traffic. Any spot in or near this loop seemed to be the better spots. I had issues with the Wi-Fi – it was weak-to-none. I mentioned this to them after a couple of days and they re-booted the router; I then had a great signal. Wish I had said something early on.

We discovered Big Pine Campground last year. Ron and Angie are great hosts. The facilities are well kept and the prices are very reasonable. We came back this year and stayed for a week. Camping in a Pine Forest with all attractions of the Black Hills close by is the best!
