Found the bungalows on line while planning our stay in Custer. The owners are renovating each 'cabin' ... according to the owner, one cabin per winter. We stayed in cabin 4. It was beautiful. One big note is that there is no television available but the WI FI was very robust and we could upload our blog with multiple pictures with no problem. The cabin was equipped with a grill on the deck and a nicely appointed kitchen.
The location was quiet except for the ducks on the pond waking up the geese on the pond! This is not a negative. We also observed a group of wild turkeys roaming the property.
Since the area is under development the driveways are a little rough. Still we had a very pleasant stay (4 days) and enjoyed our ability to access the local attractions.

Room Tip: We loved cabin 4

LOVED the Bungalows! We stayed in cabin 4, with a lovely view of the Needles and a pond. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, cabin was spotless, and two grocery stores were a short drive away. This property is ideally located, close to Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, the caves, and anywhere else you'd want to go. Hope to return next year.

The Black Hills Bungallows were perfect for our time in the Black Hills. The cabin was clean and appropriately furnished. The views of the Needles were spectacular. A little off the beaten path, the quiet beauty helped us relax. Our 3 year old daughter loved fishing in the pond and petting the goats. Scott and his wife went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable. Would definitely repeat the next time we visit.

We made a spontaneous trip to the Black Hills last week. We were referred to this spot by another property owner who was full. We don't think we could have had a better accommodation if we tried. It is located a few miles from downtown Custer and very close to one of the Custer State Park entrances in a quiet wooded spot. Our kids aged 10 and 8 loved fishing in the pond and playing with Scott and Susan's goats (as well as just running around). As other reviewers mentioned, the cabin was very well appointed and very clean. We stayed in Cabin 3 which was renovated last winter, and it was very lovely. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to visit the area.
