Be prepared to be awakened around 6 a.m. by the birds. There is a huge tree next to the house that hosts all kinds of birds with exotic cries. Robert noticed I was up early, and brought me coffee while I sat outside and waited for the rest of my family to stir. After that, it's a simple breakfast of fruit, eggs, toast and homemade marmelade. We spent one day at Playa Venao, about 25 km away, but my favorite beach is Playa Distiladeros. The turnoff is just outside town on the way to Limon. For dinner,Isabelle suggested a fonda called Isla Iguana (and yes, it's right next to the gas station)but the seafood was excellent and the prices very reasonable. Beware of venomous black and yellow sea snakes at nearby Playa de Toros! It's a good walking beach, but very wild and untamed.

We enjoyed several nights at this quaint little bed and breakfast. The hosts care for all your needs - only three guest rooms so there is never a crowd. We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the miles of open beaches just a few minute walk away. Breakfast on the deck with the owners was a lot of fun - she speaks three languages and he speaks five. They are fascinating folks and very fun to chat with.

Room Tip: This is a quiet little place about 5 minute drive from Pedasi. Three rooms available and all are eq...

We initially only planned on staying two nights, but ended up staying four. Robert and Isabelle are extremely charming and knowledgable hosts. They made us feel very welcome. The view from the veranda was absolutely amazing. We could even see whales while having our breakfast. La rosa de vientos is surrounded by a wonderful garden with lots of birds and butterflies and the rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated. We had an amazing time and would definately go back there. It was our favorite place in Panama!

I stayed 2 nights in Playa Toro at La Rosa. It was the perfect place to unplug and unwind for a couple of days. The hotel is about 2 km outside of Pedasi town and you most likely need a car to get back and forth.
The hotel only has three rooms, which are attached to the owner's house. Our room had two single beds and an ensuite bathroom. A small desk and an open closet for keeping your bags or hanging clothes. The bathroom and shower were spacious and adequate. All rooms share the back patio that overlooks the farm and out to the ocean. The rooms also come with a hammock to hang out back. There is no tv or internet so come prepared with your own entertainment.
Robert and Isabelle are wonderfully friendly to talk to and prepare a simple breakfast of eggs and fruit in the morning. They were so attentive to details that when my friend did not eat the papaya the first morning, Isabelle did not include any the second day! They also suggested a couple of different beaches in the area to visit that we had not heard of.
All in all the place has a wonderfully cozy and quaint feel to it. It is a great place to escape.

A mile or so down a road from the center of Pedasi, with the ocean to the right and ahead (accessible via a short walk), surrounded by rolling, gentle green hills, you will find La Rosa de Vientos, the charmed and charming B & B created lovingly by expats Robert and Isabelle. You will find no more gentle, hospitable and capable hosts, eager and able to make your stay memorable.

Robert (a former chef) cooked us to order breakfast every day, supplemented with Isabelle’s homemade marmalade. (Extremely good.) At night, from our room and our porch, we watched fireflies in the yard. In the morning, we were gently greeted by a chorus of birds, mostly chirping, some making wonderful horn-like sounds.

Robert and Isabelle are very knowledgeable hosts, and pointed us to several absolutely wonderful daytrips. There is a lot to see and do around Pedasi.

Our room was extremely well designed (Robert was the acting architect) and provided a comfortable, eco-friendly experience without having to “rough it” in any way.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and our hosts. We heartily recommend La Rosa de Vientos and hope to visit again one day.

The owners, Robert and Isabelle, are the perfect hosts. They are charming, helpful and very attentive to details. A very well planned 3 rooms hotel to capture sunlight, sea breeze and view. The rooms are large, very clean and confortable. No A/C needed here, as the sea breeze and the ventilator are enough to keep you happy and cheerful! The location is ideal for quiet and relaxing days along the Pacific coast, as the beach is a five minute walk away; from there, you can walk for hours on end along the coast. Plus you don't have to be concerned about your safety, as everybody being friendly in this part of the world. We spent 16 days in that setting with some magic in the air and listening to the music of the waves!

After the craziness that is Carnaval in Panama, a friend and I stayed here at La Rosa de los Vientos (the Wind Rose or Compass Rose). The accommodations were spacious, very clean and charming. Our room (one of only 3) had a back porch and hammock that opened to the huge farm garden and a view of the countryside and ocean. This is also where our lovely host served us the included breakfast (fruit bowl, eggs cooked any style, toast with honey butter and fruit chutney--I couldn't get enough of that stuff!, juice, and coffee served from a french press or tea). Isabelle, the proprietor, speaks a variety of languages including Spanish, French and English. This was the perfect place to relax for us! It is in the country so there were a couple bugs due to us wanting to keep our door open for the night breeze--but nothing scary. This hotel is a mile out of town so if you did not rent a car it is a bit hard to get to, but it is walking distance (5-10 min) to Playa el Toro; Bull Beach. Isabelle was helpful in giving us directions on how to obtain a boat to Isla Iguana and about what restaurants she would recommend in town. Overall, a fabulous experience for a great price ($55 per night for a 3 person room). Highly recommended!!

Room Tip: There are only 3...but if you are worried about breakfast noise ask for the last room or the one far...
