We had a reservation, found the place without a problem, but there was only a young boy to be seen. He was sweeping out the carports. There were no signs (a severe problem most everywhere in Panama, it seems....especially on the roads). We asked the boy where the office, or reception was, and he pointed toward a dark desk area where we stood for five or so minutes before we again asked him about someone to help us. He motioned over toward a unit and I said, "No, we have a reservation," whereupon he disappeared, supposedly to get someone. After more minutes and closer examination of the property, we decided to leave.
This place could be wonderful, and that was probably the plan, but it is unkempt and uninviting. Almost appears to be abandoned.
At U$150 per night and lackadaisical service, it does not seem to be worth the drive from Pedasi.

I found the staff delightful, the food exquisite, and the simplicity of the soundings perfect.
Wonderful value for money, a great place to relax and well worth the long drive there.

The photos on the hotel's website are deceiving. You don't get an accurate feel of just how rustic these cabins are. It looked like the cabin we stayed in had never been dusted, the bathroom had a distinct mildew smell, and there are a lot of cracks at the base of the walls and in the ceilings for birds, lizards, and bugs to squeeze through. Perhaps I wouldn't have been as disappointed had the room been priced at a quarter of the $150/night rate.

On to the positives: the staff was very nice and the grounds were attractive. The beach is right there, which is a big draw. The restaurant food was good, but I'd contend that the price fixed dinner was too expensive for what you get. (Based on other reviews, it sounds like they have a standard menu: chilled lobster served first, a fish filet served with rice as a main course, and a tart with a scoop of ice cream for dessert)

Overall, though, we were disappointed in Pedasi on the whole. The area had come highly recommended from even personal sources, but we found it to be overhyped and have zero desire to ever return. There is nothing special about the beaches, the town has nothing in the way of attractions, and it is a long drive down the Azuero Peninsula.

The stylish cabins very beautifully built with wood. Extract clean and right on the beach. Very quite and "relaxing". I would go there if I can every time I visit Pedasi area.
The owners have 2 beautiful dogs, very friendly and they follow you and stay with you all the time ( that is if you like pets). The little reading/social area is very antique and I love the art work.
Breakfast is including and dinner was amazing, the pool is warm all the time well even better when it's raining.
I love this place and definitely had the best experience here. It's pricy but it's worth the dineros....

Note: for the private house in the compound I do not know if it's grea or not I only stayed in the hotel for a few days.

Room Tip: Group should take the Thai Cabin, coupls definitely the beach front rooms. They are large and sunny...

The hotel is fine; personnel and owner are very nice and helpful; the location is great, but the cabins and grounds need much more maintenance...although they are building new cabins; cabins need more lighting; the toilet did not flush. Don't even think about going into the ocean. It's a looooong drive from Panama City

Granted it took several emails, a fax, a telephone call and a final email to book a room. But worth it. Wit and whimsy characterize the cluster of cottages, with perhaps the most comfortable bed ever. I was drawn here by the reputation for food, and was not disappointed. One typical evening: lobster appetizer and exquisitely prepared fresh fish, followed by an elaborate desert. The pool was well appreciated. The sound of surf loud enough to rival the air conditioner.

Room Tip: Easy, since each room is well illustrated on the posada's website.

My wife and I rented the casita "Gloria" during March of last year. We found this place by accident after having been stuck on the Pan America highway for two days in our car due to an Indian protest of mining. That's another story. We headed to Pedasi and when we saw what Los Destiladeros and their beach we decided to go no further. We had found what we were looking for in Panama. The people that own and operate this great place are wonderful. The owner, Philippe Athanatiades invited us to dinner at the lodge restaurant when we first arrived. Excellent food and good company. The property manager , Joel, couldn't have been more accommodating. We felt at home and most welcomed. The pool is relaxing as is the view of the Pacific. The grounds keepers, the maids, and waitresses were extremely helpful and nice people. I highly recommend this place for a quite vacation. They offer some unbelievable real estate for sale if that is something you desire.

Room Tip: The accommodations overlooking the beach are as beautiful as I have ever seen.
