We loved our stay in Hotel Dachstain. It offered many services, you would only expect of 5 star hotel. Spacious, ultra clean, newly furnished rooms with LCD tv with 99 channels. Food was fantastic, especially 7-course dinners. Hotel is family owned and all members of the family are working in the hotel all the time. At our leave manager of the hotel himself carried our luggage to our car. And all that for quite affordable prize. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Our stay there has been just wonderful. We stayed there for a week in winter. The rooms are spacious enough, the bathroom clean and well -equipped. The view was very nice, too: the window faced the centre of the village and not the mountains, but FIlzmoos is such a nice town that we didn't really mind. It was quiet, which was fairly important for me.
The food was the best I've ever eaten in Austria (and I've been to Austria at least 10 times before). Breakfast buffet is a standard one, but the dinners are quite big - 4 or 5 courses - with especially delicious entrees and desserts.
The only problem for me was the language - I don't speak German very well. Our waiter, a very nice guy, had problems with English (or just refused to speak it). Fortunately, I grabbed enough of the language to order food from the menu.
The hotel is family-owned and supervised by them all the time. They are very nice people.
There's one thing I don't understand about this hotel. It's called a "Sporthotel", but has no swimming pool or a fitness room. Which is a pity.
