We visited 3 times in 6 days. The food, the views, the welcome make this a must go to restaurant in the beautiful little village of Filzmoos. We had grilled trout from the river below the restaurant. A fantastic regional pork dish with heavenly crackling. Mushrooms fresh picked in the forest. A desert made with pinenut oil that was sensational. Neither of us are oenophiles and are basically t-total but imbibed some red wine on one occasion which was as good as I've ever tasted. I understand that the chef from a certain 2 Michelin star restaurant elsewhere in the village comes to the Pilzhof on days off as do many villagers. About half to three quarter mile (1k) from village centre. Menu was in German but flawlessly translated and explained in English by Erich. Children welcomed
