We arrived at Waldhof at the end of a busy European tour and were ready to relax and enjoy! It is a charming place in a beautiful setting with helpful and friendly staff. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the food, in generous quantities, was varied and very good. The daily program detailing activities, menus and suggested excursions was a nice touch. There are numerous good local walks which are well marked but it is well worthwhile going on the organized walks with the fitness instructor Connie who happily shared all her local knowledge. We stayed on the well-being half-board basis which was excellent value. We hope to return and enjoy Waldhof during other seasons too.

It's all about the staff. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The view from your lake facing room will make you want to never ever leave. Food was excellent. Just walk down to the lake from your room and jump in a row boat and row across the serene alpine lake. Like many all inclusive resorts you must pay for drinks. The bartenders are very good at selling them too. This resort is not for the faint at pocketbook. It is costly. However, the experience is priceless. My wife and I had a couples spa treatment with massage and bath, and it was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Rain or shine, the location is the most relaxing anywhere on the planet. The pools were fantastic, clean and have indoor/outdoor access for year round enjoyment. 20 minutes from Salzburg, and 30 minutes from Berchtesgaden for fun shopping and excursions. Next time were staying for a full week.

We stayed there with our 3 years old son in September. Everything was just perfect. The owners and the staff were very kind, polite and helpful. The dinner was excellent. The area was beautiful. We liked the town and the resort a lot. Hope to visit there in many other times with different seasons like Christmas :) .

One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. The staff were wonderful, the food was superb and the room was huge for our family of 4. There were special touches throughout our stay. The area was beautiful. Highly recommend half board. We had the most magnificent breakfast every morning, lunch, afternoon cakes and the a choice of two wonderful restaurants at night. The food is definitely mitchelin star standard. The chef has to adore food and healthier restaurant had calorie count on each course.cannot speak more highly about this hotel. The family owned hotel was more than we could ever wished for. we will definitely be back. The hotel is a maze of rooms and hidden gems. A quiet area, a wonderful spa, indoor and outdoor heated pools. Absolutely fabulous. Thank you for making our 8 night stay one to remember.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the last 5 years or so. On previous occasions it has been in early autumn and each time it has always been thoroughly enjoyable. This resort is a combination of superb location on Lake Fuschl which offers stunning views of lake and mountains, peace and lots to do either out in the countryside or at the hotel where spa, pools and saunas offer activity and relaxation. The family management and staff all do a superb job in ensuring guests are looked after to the highest standards. Mr Ebner Snr even collected us from the airport. The all inclusive deal gives an amazing choice of food and refreshment options all of the highest quality. Menus are innovative and fresh food such as salads really do suit all tastes. As Brits, we are somewhat in the minority as the majority of guests speak German but, do not let this put you off. We will be there again later this year.

We booked a Gutl Villa room as a special treat and we're not disappointed! These rooms have a large living area, two bedrooms, two modern bathrooms and a balcony. The expensive room meant that we could dine in the better restaurant and have free parking. Our only complaint was that it wasn't cleaned on the second day. I'm sure it would have been if we had mentioned it, but we didn't.

We travelled with two children aged 6 and 9 and the facilities were wonderful for them. They loved the horses, children's club and swimming pools. Most of the clientele at this time of year are couples and older people and our (sometimes) difficult six year old did get a few hard stares at times which was a bit uncomfortable. The staff, however, could not be faulted and made every effort to accommodate them.

The food was lovely but we couldn't always get to the lunch and cake buffets because we were skiing or out on trips. Menus and daily activities were printed in English for us (a check by a native English speaker wouldn't go amiss but then they wouldn't be nearly as entertaining!) A small kids menu is available. We tried the main restaurant too and found the the food to be just as good. Our children preferred the ambience of the posh restaurant though and demanded the same table at every meal (spoilt brats? definitely!)

Entertainment in the hotel is very low key and aimed at the older more discerning customer (think musical recitals and jazz evenings). One recital started in the atrium outside the Gutl restaurant whilst we were having dinner and the musicians were placed in front of the the restaurant doors and on the landing outside our room door above. This meant that restaurant customers had to leave via the kitchen and we had to climb over instruments to get to our room. It didn't particularly bother us but I can imagine others would not be happy as these are the most expensive rooms. They need to redesign the stage set to face the other way next time I think, so that customers can leave through the normal doors and are not inconvenienced.

Speaking of entertainment, the village itself was almost deserted but we did take advantage of a very reasonably priced boat trip organised by the hotel and the lovely Christmas markets of St Wolfgang are only a short drive away. The Hintersee ski was closed while we were there and the 'Alm' next to the hotel suffered from lack of snow so we couldn't really use the ski facilities there (a great shame but can't be helped). We headed for Postalm and during the week had the slopes virtually to ourselves.

Our six year old cried when we had to leave and had to be carried out of the kids club (more hard stares from the clientele). Would we return? Absolutely - Ebner Waldorf brace yourselves!

It is difficult to write anything new because the hotel is timeless but does change which is how things should be. We were lucky to find this place many years ago when it was much smaller, but it has never lost it's friendliness or helpfulness over the years although it has certainly grown!

The Ebners are such lovely people and all of the staff seem to feed off that and are an extended family. We feel so much at home and so relaxed here - doing just as much as you want or not - its down to you.

Thank you all very much.
