“Great place to learn about Jimmy Carter”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

Spent part of a day checking out Jimmy Carter historic sites in and around Plains, Ga. Check out visitor center, the train depot / campaign headquarters, the shops lining downtown Plains, Billy's former gas station but especially Jimmy Carters boyhood home at the outskirts of the town. Gave insight into how his life in Plains influenced this very generous and kind former President.

“So glad we started here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2014

We drove into Plains for a day of visiting the National historic sites. We saw a sign for the Visitor Center & headed there. If you are planning on visiting Plains, make sure to start at their Visitor Information Center. Friendly staff who know the area because they are from the area! We learned a lot - not just about the Carters, but the local peanut crop & the surrounding Georgia area. This center is located by a pond so there are ducks around. It's just a nice place to stop & take a break. The bathrooms are very clean. The building is inviting but the staff here is what makes it worth the stop.

“Linda Saves The Day (and the budget)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 December 2013

Flush with the excitement of a full day in Plains including church with President and Mrs. Carter we stopped by the Visitor's Center to inquire about the possibility of visiting both Andersonville Historic Site and Warm Springs attractions tomorrow Even though it was less than hour til closing time Linda took time to map out a schedule that will allow us to enjoy and appreciate both historic sites without stress or pressure. She even found us economical rooms for an extra night In order that we continue to have "Georgia On Our Minds". Thanks Linda-You are the best. The Moffords

“Surprisingly worth visiting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2013

Many so called visitors centres are in reality poorly staffed and just trying to extract money from the unwary traveller - not so this one at Plains

“Make It Your First Stop in Plains”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2013

Southern hospitality at its best! The individual at the center was extremely helpful in describing what and where things were in Plains. She also gave us information on other sites nearby such as the National Prisoner of War Museum in Andersonville, GA.

Plains, GA is a wonderful place to visit. It was a welcomed reminder that I live in a country where a boy can grow up in a small rural town in Georgia and truly can become president of the United States.
