Great walking trails that suit all levels. You don't have to be super fit to enjoy a nice walk through gorgeous scenery.

Lots of walks at all levels although rather easier on the Penken cablecar side. Weekly lift / bus pass excellent value giving a much wider range of well marked walks a little away from Mayrhofen itself. During Summer high season the popular time buses (say 8 - 10 and return 3 - 6) can be very overfull despite the companies best efforts to put on an extra one. It is best to go the bus station as you will almost certainly not get on at other stops in Mayrhofen.

Lots of huts near the cable cars offering good value and quality food. The Tourist Office offers lots of guided walks (free for guests of many hotels) at all levels although the guide may not speak much English.

Mayrhofen and the valley has extensive range of walks of varying levels. Something to suit everyone. Majority are well marked.

Most scenic routes are accessed via cable cars. Worth buying the inclusive cable car, bus and train card. Also enables access to six outdoor swimming pools in the valley.

The alps here are outstanding. There are lifts to help you get to altitude quickly if you desire, or you can readily ascend from the valley. The huts in the alps are there for overnight accommodations, or a beer/snack.

as I already read on Tripadvisor, good maps are welcome. Especially the walks from the two local cable companies (Ahorn and Penken) are not so well indicated; we did other very nice walks farther away (in the Tuxertal and in the Zillergrund) and they were better marked
So you 'd better buy a good map from the tourist office (although they say you don't need it!)
