My partner & I went skiing in December 2011 to see 2012 in, it was my first time skiing & my partners second time. The previous year my partner stayed in a different hotel opposite the Kramerwirt & instantly liked the look of the hotel hence why we booked up to stay with them a year later. It took my partner a long time to convince me to go skiing because I am very much a sun worshipper. I finally gave in and decided to see what skiing is all about. Comfort is key for me s staying in a decent hotel was a must.
The Kramerwirt is simply AMAZING!!! from the moment we turned up (at 2am) we had fresh bottled water & a baguette each waiting for us, the staff were so friendly throughout our stay especially Tina, the bedrooms & bedsheets etc were clean, they changed our towels everyday...it was simply a great experience.
The husband and wife who inherited the hotel are still very hands on & took time out every breakfast & dinner to go and personally say hello to their quests.
The one evening we fell asleep & missed dinner, we were woken up by a knock at the door which was a member of staff simply checking if we were ok because they hadnt seen us go down for dinner!!!!! The Kramerwort simply know how to master customer service. I can not wait to go back there.

Do yourself a favor and stay here! Amazing homely feel!! I stayed in April 2012 and have already booked in again for 2013. Very central to the township and despite other comments about the church bells I never heard them in the two weeks I was there.

We are very pleased with the nice report, thank you very much! This is a good motivation for the winter season starting in December. Sometimes we joke about the church bells, did you know that some places in Tyrol have minarets...

We have been coming to this hotel since 1992 - found it by accident as our travel operator changed us from another hotel. The accomodation and food are excellent. We now tend to stay in self catering appartments, but no trip to Mayrhofen would be complete without at least 1 meal here

Room Tip: Ask for a roo away from the church - they are quieter

We have been coming to this hotel for our annual skiing holiday since 1991, when our eldest child was 6 months old. It is the most friendly hotel and has a great family atmosphere, despite its size. The rooms are spotlessly clean and traditionally decorated. The food is good, portions are more than adequate after a days skiing, and now the restaurant is non-smoking it is very pleasant. The one negative is that the bar would be better if there were a separate smoking area as it is a jolly place to be in the evenings but is always very smoky; not good if you are with children. Even if you are not staying here, it is a popular place to dine and there are lots of smaller eating areas around the main bar area. The choice of food at the breakfast buffet is amazing - a very good selection for even the fussiest child! We now have 4 children who refuse to ski in any other resort because of this lovely hotel and the wonderful SMT ski school.

Room Tip: Book direct and not through a travel company - you'll get a better room and a better price. Room...

Hotel Kramerwirt - excellent food - excellent presentation - excellent service. Very friendly staff, only too willing to help with any holiday questions.

Travel Info - flew to Innsbruck via Vienna with Austrian Airways. Catch Bus 'F' to Innsbruck HBF main rail station (20 mins). Less than €3 payable on board. On arrival, cross the road and enter OBB station. Take escalator downstairs to ticket hall. Use ticket machine to save time queing. Select Zillertal Mayrhofen - ensure you have small denomination - change, €5 and €10 - single less than €15. Change train at Jenbach and enjoy the scenery to Mayrhofen (total rail journey about 1.5 hours). Kramerwirt only a few minutes walk from station. On return from Mayrhofen, request train ticket to include the 'F' bus journey to airport, single €13-10.

Bar info - like all hotel bars in the summer - completely dead - customers tend to sit outside and drink.

Gentle/Intermediate walking - lovely walk along the river to Hippach/Ramsau. Bus to Finkenberk\Brandberg and follow the yellow-marked walking signs back to Mayrhofen. Two cable car stations - plenty of walking\climbing available on summit.

Only downside - smoking is allowed in bars - what a shame for such a lovely and healthy country.

Overall - have stayed in Mayrhofen about 10 times over 25 years - absolutely delightful - just be prepared for mixed weather and dress accordingly. The Kramerwirt is probably the best hotel I have stayed with in Mayrhofen but not inexpensive.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper - maybe request a room wher you cannot hear the Church bells

We opted for half board whilst staying at the hotel Obermair and for the evening meal we ate at the Alpenhotel Kramerwirt. The food was excellent apart from one night the choice wasn't a choice. There is always a soup starter and they were some of the best we have ever had all made fresh. The main was 2 options (1 being a veggie) followed by a desert. There was 2 buffet nights a week for the main course(1 being a themed 1 with foods from the Italian/Austrian border about 20 choices including meats, fish, vegetables, pasta, pizzas) on a help yourself basis. Once a week there was a deserts buffet with an excellent variety of cakes, fruit, jellies/jelly cream and always cream. The wine was expensive in the full bottles £20+, we settled for a 1/4 litre of their house wines which were excellent at Euro 5.40. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They went the extra mile my wife being allergic to apple/peach, they went to great lengths to make sure these were avoided offering alternatives not on our prescribed menu. For my fussy daughter again they arranged food not on the fixed menu.
Would definitely reccomend taking the half board at the Obermair which allows you to eat at the Kramerwirt.

We've stayed at this hotel a few times and it has never disappointed.
From the initial welcome at reception to the service in the dining room and out on the terrace you get the impression of a hotel that does actually think that looking after the guests is a priority.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and although some of them are in need of a redecoration they are perfectly acceptable.

The dining room is well looked after by the staff - and the food is normally excellent. If you want a change, I would recommend dining on the terrace - the food served out there from the a la carte menu is outstanding - both in quality and quantity. The traditional music on the terrace most evenings is a relaxing change from some of the rubbish you get in other hotels. And the local beer is amongst the finest quality I have ever tasted.

It's only a short stroll from the hotel up to the centre of town so if you fancy a stroll in the evenings to sample some of the other bars and cafes you won't have far to go.

We don't get back to Mayrhofen as often as we like but whenever we do go, there is only one place to stay - and that will always be the Kramerwirt
