Liked everything. Disliked? Nothing! The legend that is the Gasser.
The Gasser is situated at the bottom of the Penken gondola-you'll smell it before you see it and it is a meat lovers paradise. They serve perfectly cooked hot meats by weight, in bread rolls or with fries or salads, racks of ribs and schnitzel, huge bowls of delicious gulashsuppe or knoedlsuppe. The best part is, they're all so darned cheap-a hot beef roll with mustard will set you back about 2.50 euro, a bucket of gulash only 3.60 euro and a beer to wash it down with for only a couple more.
They get mega busy so getting a seat can be a challenge but its so worth it. We found ourselves holding out for a late lunch when we came down off the mountain and ended up eating there almost every day. Its incredible value and the food is delicious and fresh. If you're staying self catered in the resort its also a great place to pick up a joint of cooked meat to make sandwiches or have for dinner with your chalet crew. Our personal favourite? That hot beef roll (heise braten mit brot if you're wondering) with a smear of their mustard.
