“Apartment Neuhaus review”
Reviewed 6 August 2013 via mobile

I have booked one bedroom apartment. The building is across the street from the hotel Neuhaus and in the center of the town. I can't remember clearly if it was on the 2 or 3rd floor but nonetheless there was an elevator. The building is modern, apartments very clean and well planned. Kitchen has very nice table with corner benches and balcony, stove is very modern, induction style. Bedroom spacious enough to put in big baby cot and big closet. If remember correctly the outside shutters were electric and it was really convenient.
Bathroom with big walk-in shower and 2 sinks, very clean. Whole apartment was modern and new.
The only downside was Internet that you had to pay for in the hotel reception and only then get a password. Ad it was quite expensive so I didn't use it. Except that, all was really tip-top.
However, the price was steep and finding out later that I could have a apartment room for 1/3 of the price half a kilometer outside of the town devalued my experience. Fact, the other place wouldn't be so modern but still...
Concluding, if someone likes to be in modern accommodation and in the middle of town plus is single or couple, I can recommend. For longer stay with kids, there are better, cheaper options.

Just back from this hotel. The hotel is big and busy but other than at meal times this is not the impression you get. Our room was very nice and very comfortable. It was spotlessly clean. It was in the annexe which was accessed via a series of gloomy underground passages and a couple of lifts. An odd arrangement.

The garden was pleasantly laid out and the leisure facilities looked to be decent. The food was very good. The caveat in all of this was the service. Staff were pleasant enough but their service was inconsistent. Much depended on where you were sitting in the dining room; some guests would have had no issues at all whilst others would have had our experience. Some nights the service was excellent, others it was slow/unreliable. It struck me that there did not appear to be a system that was adhered to and that in the area we were in nobody seemed to be directing affairs so that there were delays and used dishes left lying as you started a new course. Perhaps more staff would have helped. The young waitresses were good but our waiter seemed to be the root of the problem. He would take your order and then disappear or dart about from table to table without checking to see if the meal had arrived.

In the terrace area, where the entertainment was, again female staff were really nice but the could not be said for all of the male staff one of whom was actually a bit rude in his manner.

Stay at this hotel, it is very good but get on the case of some of these male waiters!

Just returned from a week in in Mayrhofen staying at the Neuhaus. Which I found was excellent the decor and the helpful staff was outstanding, as I had taken my mam with me. I booked two single room. But I we signed in they give us a family with a small lounge with all the comforts of home. I had my own bedroom, both bedrooms had en-suite bathrooms with shower an bath. Also both rooms have 42in HD Tvs. Which had English channels.

I can highly recommend this hotel and the resort of Mayrhofen. Some of the reviews I had read. They must have just been unlucky. As I have been going there for over 12yrs and never had a bad holiday. I the hotel staff courteous and friendly. Plus I can say the same for the people of mayrhofen.

Just back from a weeks stay booked through Inghams. We arrived on a Saturday night to be told that the hotel was overbooked. This coincided with a large local wedding being held in the hotel and a lot of the guests were staying overnight. We were moved to the Elisabeth Hotel, the only 5 star hotel in Mayrhofen. Oh, how we wished we could have stayed there for the week.
We moved into the Neuhaus on the Sunday after breakfast.
We had a superb room (room 20) in the main building of the hotel (I counted four buildings making up the entire hotel !). However, the room was great, two fully fitted, new bathrooms, one with bath and shower, the other with rain shower and hand held shower. No problem with hot water nor shower power. Unfortunately the face towels are very thin and literally scratch your face. All the rooms were a very good size. Two wall safes but strangely no fridge/mini bar. Large balcony going right round our room. During our week there the temperature rose to 37 degrees most days BUT there is no air-con in the hotel so it was pretty uncomfortable during the night.
Our meals (breakfast and dinner) were served in a very large dining hall which catered for about 150 people plus there were various other little dining areas which all seemed to be full. There was also an a la carte restaurant outside (pretty expensive). So it's pretty much mass catering.
The breakfast was extremely disappointing and very poorly presented. The fruit juice was out of a machine and was pretty thin and not very convincing. Uninspiring choice of cereals. The only hot dish was scrambled eggs, the colour of which put me off right away.
The hotel provided a packed lunch, as most Inghams hotels do in Austria. This consisted of two stale rolls, one with a piece of sweaty cheese on it and the other with a wafer thin piece of ham. There was also a piece of whatever dessert was left over from the penultimate nights dinner. And an apple.
For dinner you have to be in the Dining Hall between 6.30 and 8.00. That doesn't mean you can go down at 7.30ish for a meal as we did on the Sunday night. The Hall was virtually empty and the tables were being set for breakfast the next morning. Having said that the food at diinner was actually very good. Five courses and generally of a high standard.
The service in the Dining Hall was a bit iffy. Some meal times very efficient and other times I'm sure we were forgotten about.
The location of the hotel is not the best but Mayrhofen is a small town and everywhere worth visiting was in walking distance.
I wouldn't complain about the staff because any problems that we had were caused by language problems. Their English was far better than my German.
So our decision is that we would not go back to, nor recommend, this hotel.

I was in the Landhaus annex which after reading some of the reviews I was a bit worried about. But aside from slightly dated decor and a 30 second walk across the (very quiet) road for meals, it was perfectly fine, in fact my single room was much bigger than the other singles in the St. Josef block. Plenty of light, nice balcony (with grotty garden furniture), nice shower. Towels aren't great; if you like a soft fluffy towel, bring your own.

Food was really good, a selection of breads, hams, cheeses, fruits, pastries and omelettes for breakfast with fresh coffee and juice. Dinner was 6 courses, with plenty of variety and local produce. They even gave free packed lunches to half-boarders (order the night before).

The outdoor swimming pool is small and cold, but in the 38 degree heat it was very nice! The indoor pool is bigger, and was very warm.

The location is not the best. It's quite far from the cable cars, tourist office, supermarket, meeting points etc. It is very convenient for the train station though, and most buses stop there too.

As first time guests to this alpine area, we fell in love with Mayrhofen, its climate, its food, and its hospitality. The wonderful feather beds and local cuisine were a definite plus. We had half board with our room and the breakfast was super as well as the extensive dinner menu; each meal featuring a selection of produce and game meat from the area. Trekking around town and then up the Ahornbahn is an experience not to be missed. We drove up to the base of the Hintertux Glacier to get more views and were so impressed, we wanted to book a stay for early January. Unfortunately, due to limited wi-fi (controlled by a front desk gestapo), we were unable to book anything quickly and were forced to wait until arrival at our next destination to get internet service. By that time, we had limited options but booked quickly for our next trip (see next review on the Alpenbad Hohenhaus, Hintertux). We loved this place in the fall and would return to see the Almatrieb in late September.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building and if you can, right above the restaurant and lobby area. We did. it wa...

We booked, via Thomas Cook, in february a holiday in this hotel.
TWO days before we have to leave, the phoned us that the hotel was overbooked.

We have mailed the hotel and Thomas Cook: The hotel said it was not their fault. Thomas Cook did not take the effort to answer!

It's a disgrace!!!
