Stayed in the Obermair late June this year. We booked through Crystal Holidays and could not praise their staff more highly with varied excursions options available and handy office in the town centre.
Lovely bed and breakfast set up with genuinely friendly staff and comfortable, clean rooms. Indoor pool is handy and adjacent outside seating space is a relaxing area.
Took evening meal option at the Kramerwirt which again was excellent.
The whole package from the hotel, the Crystal staff, varied excursions and the resort itself was first class and we can honestly say this was one of our best holidays in along time at a reasonable price. Buy a active card to make significant savings on gondolas, public transport etc..

Room Tip: Room 7 in the original block has a balcony with alovely view.

A group of 7 of us stayed at the Obermair on a walking holiday. We have stayed at this hotel before 5 years ago and were very happy with it, hence the return. The Obermair is still every bit as good, if not better, Excellent breakfasts with now a cooked option, and further developed steam rooms, saunas, relaxation room, all at no extra cost. Frau Obermair is a lovely hardworking lady and nothing was too much a trouble for her, she looks after her guests very well. the views from the bedrooms at the front of the annex are wonderful, and we would have spent more time on the balcony had the weather permitted as it poured down unfortuneately the whole week, The meals at the Krammerwirt when on the half board option were absolutely excellent, again we were well looked after. Mayrhofen continues to be the most wonderful place to visit and despite the awful weather we were not deterred and walked in the mountains even in the snow. The Zillertal pass for a daily gondola trip and unlimited bus and train travel in the Tirol we would highly recommend ,its brilliant and it got us all over the place. When we visited (end may) Mayrhofen was very quiet so we would probably go a week later next time as apparently the summer season in Mayhofen officially starts then, for instance the Ahorn gondola was not open and that was a miss. But for all that I am confident we will defineately be back to Mayrhofen,,,,,,,and all of our party said they would be more than happy to stay at the Obermair hotel. It would certainly be our first port of call in this very beautiful place.

Room Tip: Top floor in the annex overlooking the mountains is wonderful

There is nothing bad I can really say about this hotel. The rooms if small, are quite comfy. There is a nice shower and a TV. The food in the sister hotel is EXCELLENT and much better than forking out for lesser quality food eating out. Breakfast in this hotel was also excellent.

It is a nice warm hotel, with a pool and a sauna.

10 minute walk to the gondola, saves your back before and after skiing.

Would definitely come again.

Room Tip: We liked the annexe although rarely slightly noisy at times.

The first time we have ever returned to the the same hotel and resort for a ski trip! The hotel is perfect if you are after a good quality hotel in a huge ski area. The rooms are mostly of a good size, though the ones facing the front are bigger, and are furnished in a clean, modern, 'Austrian' fashion.

Breakfast is excellent with a wide range of hot and cold buffet food and good coffee! The manageress is efficient and helpful and even put breakfast on for us at 6.00am on our transfer day! The Spa area is a hidden gem that is again extremely clean and modern with a pool also available to sooth sore ski and snowboard thighs!

Most importantly this hotel has bus stops for the different ski areas right outside and is less than 5 minutes walk from the train station giving you quick access to the Hintertux Glacier and other resorts on the ski pass. Were this hotel in the French Alps, it would be £thousands per week!

If you're looking for somewhere to stay for a winter sports holiday...Choose Here!

Room Tip: Ask for any of the corner rooms, they are bigger

Hotel Obermair was booked as part of a package holiday for skiing for a group of us. While I dont have any costings for this hotel, the package was working out very cheap for an austrian holiday, so I can only assume the hotel itself was very cheap. It aint luxury, but it was fine for what we needed - rooms are small, but are clean and warm. Bathroom was fine. A bit of a walk to the gondola, but if you time it right bus stops outside door - but then its not that far, maybe 10 minutes walk. Breakfast was very nice, variety and fresh food. Pool / steam room / sauna were lovely, sorry we only used it once (tended to favour apres ski over these!), but great if you are having a quieter holiday. I do have one gripe with the ladies that clean the room though, they would tidy everything, but leave all rubbish there and we had dirty cups and plates piling up which were just left there. Also the wifi does not work in the annex (you have to pay for it anyway). Overall, would recommend on the basis of it being cheap, and does the job.

Booked to stay over Christmas with Crystal Ski.
Arrived late due to Innsbruck airport being fog bound & transfered from Salzburg airport. To say it was the reps 1st busy weekend of transfers, they dealt very efficiently with the people landing in alternative airports.
We were a group of 8, 2 twins in the annexe & 2 twins in the hotel.
I'd emailed ahead that I was 2metres 9cms tall & would like a bed without a footboard. Having paid a supplement to stay in the main hotel, I thought I'd be accommodated. I was then to be imformed it would cost an extra 140 Euros, which I thought to be excessive especially after
paying the £224 supplement to Crystal.
Seeing the dearer room, which had recently been updated, & then the other room, we decided not to upgrade. [cost, & there wasn't any difference between the annexe & hotel]
The room we took was of ample size, having a 3rd bed, but all with footboards. I asked the host if she could supply another couple of mattresses so that the extra mattress height would be above the footboard & I'd be comfortable enough. She agreed & continued to remove the clean bed sheets off the spare bed, no point in causing extra washing,
We Just left the bags & rushed off to get ski's & then the evening meal in the Kramerwirt.
On returning I saw the host in reception & asked if she'd sorted the extra mattresses, ' I haven't had time, maybe tommorrow ! ' she replied...... Anyway 3 mins later she arrived at our door with a mattress. As we were then unpacking, we noticed the under blacket on the spare bed had urine, blood & crispy stains !!!
All 3 under blankets were the same !!!
Being tired, we ripped them off & immeditelly texted the Crystal Helpline. They replied that a rep would contact & sort it out tommorrow.
Next morning, good to their word they contacted me, to which I said I wanted a free upgrade or the room sorted, they contacted the Host, to be told 140 euro & they'd done all they could do!
I reminded the rep, that this was not acceptable & that he was my representive for this hoilday & if the hotel can't move us to the other room, they should deffinately replace the blankets, sheets & add another mattress so my wife & I could sleep on the same level.
10 minutes later we were assured that the sheets & mattresses would be sorted.
Well on return, all was done, 2 new mattresses, under blankets & bed sheets.

I was very supprised with this lack of cleanliness, as the hotel has been spending on upgrading.
The Obermair has a nice size swimming pool, with 2 good sized saunas, a steam room, various types of showers & a relaxation area of some quality.
Ski lockers are in the under ground passage between the annexe & hotel, with digital locks & boot warmers, enough room for 2 pairs of skis & boots in each.
The Breakfast is served between 7am & 10am, with an excellent choice of teas, coffee, fresh fruit, cereals, juices, meats, cheeses, breads, boiled eggs & 2 hot options.
The evening meal option in the Kramerwirt was excellent, 3 course & salad. Their residents got a larger selection, but we were well looked after & never left hungery.
The Hotel has a bus stop right outside on both sides, it's the 1st stop upto the lifts, so you can always get a seat. The A1 runs from 08.10am & every 20 mins. When comming off the Penken lift just walk down 20 metres past the Icebar to catch the return bus.

The Hotel Obermair would have got a higher rating for the quality breakfast, excellent sauna, pool & new rooms, the standard rooms are a bit tired, typical Austrian style

The original customer service left alot to be desired, You shouldn't have dirty under blankets/ sheets at anytime of the year when visiting! this was the 1st or 2nd week of the ski season !!!!

I would probably stay here again, I believe things can change [improve].
