“Nice and Friendly”
Reviewed 30 January 2014

This hotel is generally great,
It has a perfect location near the bus stop to the train station or lift, and is a sort walking distance to the main street, yet its totally quiet.
The rooms are basic, but perfectly comfortable, I expected a 4 stars hotel to have a mini bar or refrigerator in the room – but there was none. All common facilities (ski room, sauna) were welcoming, very clean and not too crowded
We had HB - breakfast was great, and so were most of the dinners. (Italian night was disappointing) . Be aware - they would charge you 1EU for 0.5 Lit of tap water unless you order wine or coffee!

Room Tip: ask for balcony - not all rooms have one

Stayed here in March 2013. Had a blast of a time skiing - which we always do in Mayrhofen. Without doubt this is the friendliest hotel we have been to here. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, nice rooms. Easy access to the ski lifts via the bus. Will definitely be back.

The Hotel Rose in Mayrhofen is well-situated for all the attractions - cable cars, cafes, railway station, and buses.Staff at the hotel were extremly helpful and friendly. Bedrooms vary in size -m ours had a balcony which is always a bonus with extra room for sitting.One of the extras is the Rosegarten where there is nightly free entertainment in the summer months.
Mayrhofen is a charming town/village with enough shops and cafes/restaurants to suit most people.I would recommend both the resort and the hotel.

mixed party of 7 people, all thoroughly enjoyed it;
hotel clean & tidy throughout, though didn't try the naked sauna;
excellent rooms;
very good food, wide choice;
convenient location - easy walk to Penken gondola or 2 minutes on free bus (tip: hire a locker at the bottom of the gondola and leave your skis & boots, well worth EUR20) & close to bars (there are lots of good bars) and to all centre of town;
half-board via Neilson, excellent value, good reps (tip: if one of your party joins ski club of great britain for £60.00 then you get 10% of the whole price, just do the maths based on your own party size);
our first time in Austria - missed the ski-in, ski-out aspect which we have always been used to in France but enjoyed Austria so much (best ski holiday in 10 years) that we will be back next year;
tip: have at least a day on the smaller Ahorn mountain (4 minutes on bus from straight outside the hotel), visit the white lounge at the top and ski empty slopes including long red all way back to the town

Room Tip: family rooms are massive

Stayed here in March 2013. Rooms basic but fulfilled our needs as we were out on the mountains all day.
Food in restaurant great. Quality and quantity.
Staff were so accommodating
We are going back next year

Room Tip: We had a side room. Poor view but off the Main Street, so quiet

My husband and i stayed at the Rose for the week of 16-23 March. Lovely clean place, nice rooms and fab food, 5 courses some nights and a couple of buffet nights. Always loads to choose from at breakfast, hot and cold.
The only thing we didnt like was that the smoking area was at the entrance to where you ate ... not nice.
We did use the sauna area, it was 'interesting' having to go nude but you're all the same so wasn't too bad.
Our waiter was a lovely young lad called Adrian who is a credit to this hotel.
Great proximity to the penken gondola and the bars and restaurants on offer. We had read on here about lockers for your ski's and boots (like a boot room really), EUR20 per week each, was great for us as saved us carting the ski's n boots back and forth to the hotel every day

We liked a place called Mo's when just off the slopes for a beer/wine before going back to the hotel.
We loved this place and would def stay here again and recommed to others.

Recently spent a week skiing in Mayrhofen, staying in the Hotel Rose. Had a wonderful time there. The staff were amazingly pleasant and helpful, the accommodation spotlessly clean and more than comfortable and the food was excellent. The decor of the hotel was typically Austrian and had recently been refurbished to a very high standard. It was delightful. We felt that the staff went out of their way to make everyone feel special.The hotel was a short walk form the centre of town, but there were plenty of bars and shops within close proximity. Its situation meant that it was away from the noise of the Main Street. We have stayed on the main road in the past and the noise of late night revellers could be a nuisance. Another bonus was that the ski buses stopped right outside the hotel so it was easy to access all ski areas. If we go back to Mayrhofen the Hotel
Rose would undoubtedly be our choice again! Well done and thanks for a fab time.
