“Another great stay at Mannis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

We stayed for a week last year and loved it so much that we returned again. The hotel is very well run, the food is excellent and the staff are very efficient. One night we had eight courses- salad, starter, soup, another starter - smoked salmon, melon sorbet, main course, dessert and then cheese board! Amazing! The swimming pool and the food are definately what makes this hotel so special. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. If we ever return to Mayrhofen we will definately stay here again.

Spent a fortnight at manni's hotel which is family run and a fantastic place to stay. Rooftop pool with 360deg panoramic views to die for. Staff friendly and very welcoming. Food excellent. We will be here again next year as we cannot fault this hotel.

We had originally stayed with our caravan and in later years, twice at different hotels, without ever thinking that we had found the best.

This year, I think we did find the best. We paid extra for a "Panorama" room. In spite of the warnings of others that overlooking the main street might result in disturbance from noisy people outside, we had a room directly above the main street, but were not affected by any noise from outside, where the passers by passed by quietly. It may have helped that it was on the third floor and perhaps it might be different in the ski season. We were unlucky to have
arrived when during the first week when there was a heatwave and we did find our room to be much too warm for our liking and in common with other Austrian hotels, there is no air conditioning.

Although there was a modern flat screen TV, we were disappointed to find that there was no
English speaking channel available on it. After speaking to reception about it, we had hoped for it to be retuned. Especially because it was Sunday evening we were most pleased with the service we received. We returned, after our evening meal, to find that the TV had been replaced and that there were now several British channels available on it.

We found the food to be very good. Very unusual, but much appreciated was the system of
providing packed lunches. In contrast to the usual "no food to be taken out of the dining room" policy, here one was supplied with a plastic carrier and a small carton of fruit juice for each person and invited to select one`s own choice from the breakfast display table.

In the evenings, we found the expected usual Austrian heavily over priced wine, but beers were reasonably priced and tap water was always willingly supplied, on request, which our first
waiter referred to as gletcher wasser (glacier water).

There is no regular entertainment in the hotel, although we were delighted one evening to find a harpist playing. However, there is plenty of entertainment available nearby in Mayrhofen and the hotel is ideally situated in the village center for this. It is also fairly equidistant from the Penken cable car at one end of town and the Europa Haus at the other.

If we return to Mayrhofen, we will go again to Mannis.

Spent a fortnight at Manni's at the end of July and really can't fault the place at all. Room was well furnished and spotlessly clean. Bed was huge and comfortable. Staff, particularly the female owner, were really friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was plentiful with the usual Austrian fare of cold meats, cheese, rolls etc as well as yoghurts, cereals and bacon eggs and sausages.
Unlike some reports you no longer make up your own packed lunch at breakfast time. You order one the night before and collect it from reception in the morning. It is free and well worth doing if you're off for a day's walking.
Dinners were delightful. Four (sometimes five) courses of well prepared and presented food. The individual helpings could look small, but the overall meal was very filling.
My one small criticism is that drinks are expensive. Beer was almost 1 euro more expensive than most of the other hotels and wine by the bottle was dear. Tip: go up the street to the local Spar where drinks are really cheap and enjoy them on your balcony!
The real bonus to Mannis is the pool and spa on the roof. The weather was hot. What better way of cooling off after a long walk than taking a swim in a pool with a view? Fabulous!!

Even though I have been in Mayrhofen on two occasions, I have been lucky to stay at Mannis the first time. This is a great hotel, that is very close to the major ski lift to the top. The staff are great and accommodating, and the food in the restaurant is brilliant. Many good memories here, and I look forward to brining my family here one day.

We stayed here for one week on a half board basis booked via Thomson Lakes and Mountains. Excellent, central location and spotlessly clean, lovely comfortable lounge and bar area with two dining rooms, one for breakfast and one for evening meal. Our room was on the first floor at the side of the hotel with the balcony looking towards the Ahorn lift. The room was smallish and adequately furnished, the bed was very comfortable! During the first days of our holiday there was a heat wave with temperatures hitting 37C and without aircon or a fan the room was very warm. The pool area and jacuzzi is very pleasant indeed. The evening meals, four courses with additional simple salad is chosen at breakfast. Every meal was very good with some of the tastiest soups we've ever eaten, well done chef!!

Stayed in single room (at a supplement) which was tired and pokey. Had to ask for a cotton sheet for the bed. Chair in room was dirty. Local cats were using an area at the outside of the balcony as a toilet. After 5 nights got moved to a lovely double room. Much better!. Rooftop pool area was excellent. Thought the food was only adequate (Choice of pork or fish 4 times in a week is not my idea of a good selection). Would not recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: Do not ask for the single room.
