“A haven of tranquillity in the madness of a ski village”
Reviewed 16 February 2010

Having been to various hotels in Austria over 7 years I can say this hotel had everything to offer and more! The hotel would suit people from the age of about 28 years and over as it wasn't really the mad apres ski type of place which attracts the teens.

Breakfast in the cosy traditional dining room was lovely. It had everything you could ask for, and they even did your eggs just the way you wanted them. Service was impeccable and friendly. We felt instantly at home there. The hotel also had an al a carte restaurant which served the most delicious pizzas from an authentic pizza oven. Recommended for a great lunch. Evening meal was a 4 course dinner and on a couple of days the menu gave us some unusual combinations but it was typically Austrian and filling. Drinks were rather expensive but it was to be expected.

What gave the hotel that extra special touch was the roof spa and swimming pool. There was a warm indoor pool which led out to a steaming pool surrounded by snow covered mountains. Absolutely breathtaking! We would regularly relax in the warm waters and of course, the hot tub was a must! The location of this spa area made the place that bit different. How often can you swim in warm waters with the steam rising up to the sky? Wonderful. There was a gym which we did not use as we were too exhausted after a day spent on the mountains.

After dinner we would go to the lounge or bar area and listen to the marvellous entertainment which would be a nightly event. A violinist and a pianist would play various pieces and even do the odd request for you. What a way to spend the rest of your evening! The bar staff were great. If we fancied going into the village for a nightly walk there was always that choice of busy trendy bars or cosy traditional log fire hotels.

Our room was larger than usual and very comfortable with great views of the mountain range. Spotlessly clean with fresh towels daily, even a bathrobe and slippers! TV was flat screen. It made for a relaxing place to drop after a busy day on the slopes. The beds were comfortable too.

We had the most relaxing time at the hotel and the best fun on the slopes. Lots of pistes to choose from so you wouldn't get bored and excellent mountain top restaurants.
Mayrhofen itself is very pretty and has lots of shops for browsing and various restaurants and bars. It's one of the nicest villages we have been to in Austria. The people there are very friendly. It was certainly one of our best ski trips and we will never forget the Mannis Hotel.

Lovely hotel, fab food, good staff, excellent facilities - the best has to be the roof top pool and hot tub or was it the restaurant??? Great boot room, lovely bar area. The only slight downside was the noise from the late night revelers only the front rooms would suffer though - ear plugs solve this and it is a lively resort which adds to the enjoyment if you are prepared for it. The town is good for Austira having visited a fair number of others - skiing for all levels is good, a bit of a shame only having one home run from a small ski area but hey you cant have it all. You have to be prepared to travel to get to all of the runs covered by the area pass - they are worth it though. Hintertux (the glacier) on the Greenline bus (free) is well worth a vist either ski to Eggalm and bus it or take the scenic journey from Maryhofen (40mins) visit the ice caves at the top if you dont mind small spaces and ladders. The bar at the bottom gondola is one of the best I've seen in a ski resort - the smoking in bars takes a bit of getting used to - about time they caught up with some other European countries. Ice Hotel, timed ski slalom and number 5 run home at Ahorn also worth a visit.

Just returned from a week at Mannis.
Had checked the website before visting and was not disappointed.
Bedroom was huge, very clean. Fresh towels every day.
Staff were very helpful. By the end of the week when we came down in the evening they knew what we liked to drink! Friendly family atmosphere.
Meals were amazing. 5 - 6 course meals in the evening. Silver service, well presented and plenty of choice.
Tried their pizzeria restaurant for lunch one day. Very nice food. Would recommend the chopped pancakes and apple sauce. Very big portion, would recommend you share.
Location of hotel is perfect - right in the middle of the resort.
There is a ski bus stop immediately on the opposite side of the road.
Pool on the roof was amazing. The views of the mountians are amazing. Several times sat in the pool and watched the paragliders. Pool temp was like bath water for most of the week - very relaxing. The steam room had fairy lights - very pretty.

As we had a very early flight home, we were provided with a packed lunch.

Would not only recommend but would return again.

Just back today from a lovely week of walking and swimming. The hotel is right in the middle of the town, close to the cable cars. Swimming pool and sunbathing area on the roof with fantastic views. We had quiet rooms at the side of the hotel with a joint balcony which was great for drinks before dinner. The staff are brilliant and the food is plentiful. You get a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian in about 5 or 6 different courses. The hotel charges to use the internet at 3 euros per 30mins or 12 euros a day for use on your own lap top.
The hotel is very clean and tastefully furnished. Do try it.

I stayed in Manni's Sporthotel in Mayrhofen for one week. I was there for the mountain trekking of which there is plenty.
The hotel is uninspiring from many points of view - staff lack of helpfulness or simply energy, quality of decor, quality of food, quality of drinking water! Yes, for the first time in Austria if two taps were tunred on the water turned pink-brown - you've been warned!! I have to exclude the two young 'ineternship' waitresses who were extremely pleasant and very helpful. The food was unexciting and quite tasteless. It was served to us from our set menus whilst other street-paying customers sat around us eating what looked to be excellent a la carte food.
Packed lunches were a DIY process which was messy but OK.
My room was overlooking the main street which was nice, except that the windows needed to be kept closed at night because of street noise so sleeping was difficult due to the heat.
Mayrhofen is a busy little town and has a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants to frequent if you choose to. A bit too busy for me.

We booked a trip through Inghams and so did not know which hotel in Mayrhofen we would be staying at. We were allocated Manni's and I have never been so pleasantly surprised. The hotel combines home comforts with great facilities. We felt it was very luxurious without being ostentatious. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was great and the rooftop pool was truly impressive. Definitely one of the most relaxing holidays I have ever taken (even with all the hiking!). If you are looking for a central location with great service and spectacular views, stay at Manni's. We cannot recommend it enough.

We were told on departure, as if we couldn't have guessed, that it had been the coldest and wettest June in the Tirol for 43 years. However, we found this hotel welcoming. This applies especially to the waiting and bar staff. It is also very centrally situated but not noisy (at least where we were, at the back.)

For meals, our table was always reserved for us with a place card. The cold buffet breakfast was extensive, tasty and healthy. Dinner on half board was of five courses and we ate everything. You could choose to go to the salad cart at the start or later in the courses. There would be a different soup each night, a different entree such as pasta or seafood, and a different dessert, whilst the main course was a choice (to be made at breakfast) generally of a fish, meat or vegetarian option. It was all delicious and by Austrian standards the house wine was reasonably priced.

Our room and ensuite bathroom were reasonably large and well-kept. It included a safety deposit box and we had quite a large, although partly communal, balcony with a merciful roof.

We had a few minor criticisms although we mostly didn't bother to take them up as we were only there for a few days. They were as follows.

We were left in confusion about whether we had to pay extra for hot breakfast, bath robes for the spa on the top floor, or making up a packed lunch from breakfast food.

There was never any suggestion that we would get any help lugging our baggage to and from our room.

A public table and chairs from the restaurant were placed in the street where they hampered the main entrance.

The bedding was duvet or nothing - no option of sheet or blanket, apart from the bedspread.

The TV had such dodgy wiring that we could switch it on and off by rocking it.

The extractor fan in the bathroom was so silent and inefficient that we suspect it didn't work at all.

There was no bar service in the bar - you had to trek and order drinks from the other bar, which was in the restaurant.

Nevertheless, having been allocated this hotel on arrival on the basis that we would get a 4 star hotel, we think we got value for money.
