Having been to many skiing resorts in the Alps and in particular in Austria, Saalbach still remained to be discovered. In a nutshell: it's good - but there are better choices. The same goes for Rosentalerhof: it's OK - but I've been to places that offer more for the same price.
Yes, they have a sauna. But it's too small for the the size of the hotel. And it's old. And yes, they have an heated outdoor pool. But that one's tiny, too. Furthermore the pool and the sauna area are connected and while those who use the sauna do so in the Austrian way (no clothes on), those who use the pool do so in correct swimwear, creating awkward situations for both. Managment should sort that out by dividing the areas.
There a two lifs nearby; however in order to get to the main gondola you have to walk some 5-10 minutes and a part of the walk is pretty steep.
The room we had was somewhat outdated, in particular the bath room was old. But the beds were comfortable so that we slept very well.
In essence: no bad, but I would always prefer the resorts in Tyrolia as they are higher up, offer better skiing and more value for money.
