“A Wonderful Atmosphere”
Reviewed 20 March 2013

We have stayed twice in the Theresia and it has been wonderful both times. The staff are patient and helpful at all times. We particularly liked the wine waiter, he obviously loves his job and is quite entertaining at times. Also the gentleman that serves the afternoon tea always had a little chat to us each afternoon. We had a family room with two floors. Our boys had a bed that pulled down out of the wall, which worked very well as in the day it turned into a living room. The hotel is just out of town, about a 10 minuet walk into Hinterglemm, but we quite like that. its not a problem with skiing as the lift goes from just over the road and you can ski back to the hotel in the evening. I think the best bit for us is the food though. I love organic food and there is always a good selection available. We love the farmers buffet which is served once a week. If I didn't want to try other resorts I would go back to this hotel every year. It is wonderful and has a very happy family feel to it.

What a great find! The rare combination where adults and children holiday together in mutual harmony and everyone has a brilliant time! A fabulous, family friendly hotel with exquisite food. As everyone with small children will appreciate, going skiing with them can be hard work and rarely feels like a holiday. Hotel Theresia makes it all very easy - the creche is fantastic (and free!), ski school and ski rental is in the hotel and the staff are truly wonderful - nothing is too much trouble and the ski instructors drop your children back to the creche/kids games room after ski school finishes at 3pm, so you get to ski the whole day and have apres ski too - what's not to like?!

Room Tip: The family suites are fantastic - Alpengarten, Tristkogel and Hocham.

Wow just fantastic hotel facilities, staff and food. Best European ski trip I' ve had and will be back for sure. Room 203 was fab, smart clean with fre soft drinks all week. Spa is just amazing and lovely each day to swim steam. Food tasty and varied and staff friendly but not pushy. Hotel art collection is also a plus and as its a family run hotel host is happy to share with you. A real Gem! !

We really have enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The surroundings and facilities (the spa, out door heated swimming pool were just what we needed after a day of skiing to relax. The staff could not do enough for us and the service was excellent and this has to come from the management. I needed an ice pack to reduce swelling on my bad knee and they provided it few times, and Marriane the owner allowed us to use one of her treatment rooms for me to have a Kinesiology treatment by my friend (I cant think of any hotel allowing that). The staff could not do enough for us.

The spread of the afternoon tea, cakes, soup catered for everyone's needs and kept us going until dinner time. The food was very good they had so many choices from Vegetarian organic, local and Al carte and Children's menus and when we asked for more food and extra vegetables it was no problem.
The position of the hotel was perfect as there was a bus stop right outside the hotel and you could walk to ski area within 10 minutes or walk to Saalbach (the next village) in 1/2 hour.
We will definitely be going back.

Room Tip: South facing rooms have lovely views.

My family stayed at the Gartenhotel Theresia in February 2013. The service was exceptional. We had a coeliac and 2 vegetarians in our party. The provision of specialist bread, cakes and personalised changes to the menu cannot be faulted. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is warm, well appointed and has excellent wellness facilities. We found all the staff to be incredibly helpful in every respect - they were always there when you needed them but never obtrusive. It is perfectly placed opposite the Mitteregg lift and it only takes a few minutes to walk along the delightful snowy path to town. I will definately return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Room 203 was lovely, great view of the piste!

We spent 8 nights at the apartment section of the Theresia Gartenhotel for winter break. We traveled with a group of 6 families with adults & teenagers and everyone had a splendid stay! The apartments were well equipped with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable enough though the pillows were lacking (we asked for extra pillows & that helped a lot). It was wonderful to have working wi-fi throughout the hotel & apartment areas! So many times we have stayed in places like this that claim wi-fi throughout and find out it really isn't so. The breakfast & dinner inclusive meals were awesome. The breakfast bar was complete with many meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, & yogurts, as well as, any types of eggs we wanted cooked fresh. We had our choice of cappuccino, coffee, or tea. The dinner menu was very extensive and there was many salad to choose from each evening and cheeses. The staff in the restaurant were phenomenal! They took very good care of us with a smile constantly on their face! Thank you Tina & the others!! My son used the ski school in the hotel & had a wonderful instructor for snow boarding (Renee was his name). I didn't use the spa services, but I had several friends get massages & they were very pleased. My husband & son enjoyed the sauna, steam room & the gym. The location of the hotel is great. It's about a 7 minute beautiful walk to Hinterglemm where you could go have lunch, shop, or get groceries. It is about a 30 min walk to downtown Saalbach and it too was a beautiful walk! I highly recommend the Theresia!

Room Tip: Ask for room that has 2 sinks in the bathroom.

The Theresia hotel offers tremendous accomodation, food quality and a warm welcome. We had a very nice stay. The hotel offers all services(ski rental, ski pass), and a great spa area. We will come back for sure.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view on the outsidel pool
