Very clean and warm hotel in the central location. 3 min walk to ski buses and 5 min walk to express gondola. One huge disadvantage: food... not acceptable from our Polish- English "point of taste". Strongly DO NOT recommend as a half board. It was waste of money. we were close to change the hotel because of the food: breakfast only cold cheese and slices of ham an salami; musli and jam. If you want sth warm you need to pay extra: one egg €1.5. Dinner: you need to pay extra for tap water and other drinks. Meals tastless...But the rest of service at the hotel is very good. the owners are very nice and friendly. So if you want to enjoy your stay and you had to pay for half board (Directski), skip the meals and pretend you paid just for the hotel

We stayed at Clasererhaus over Christmas in December 2011.

Positives:

- Affordable
- Good location - in the town centre, short walk from the main Zell am See lift and Kaprun bus stop.
- Clean, convenient rooms with nice view
- Quiet at night
- Very nice sauna

Negatives:

- No shampoo/shower gel in the room
- Sauna didn't work by default - you have to ask for it a day in advance, which is a shame as it's a really nice sauna and I don't know why, having invested in it, they don't try to use it.
- Have to pay for hot drinks, soft drinks - having a HB is was a bit unexpected (it might be a common practice in Austria though)
- No kettle in the room - no way to make a drink, especially in the evening - when you're tired after a day on the slope and all coffee shops are closed
- Average food - no hot options for breakfast, poor veriety (raisin cake was for Christmas day only)
- No WiFi signal in the room, only at the reception area

Overall, even though the location was good and the hotel quite nice, I think next time I would save a bit more money and choose different place to stay.

Quite simply a decent pension, immaculately clean, ski locker room at door as you come in. Nice large, modern and airy rooms. So well worth staying here if you are on a budget, but do not under any circumstances go half board. Breakfast is ok, the usual continental stuff, and a few cereals, tea, and ( coffee - which you have to pay extra for!) The main meals were diabolical. Child size portions of frozen findus style meals, vegetable bites, which we buy for our child here from Lidl, and again charging extra for tap water, €1.50. Tea or coffee €2.20 et al. So if you are considering half board, all the other hotels in the area are better in every respect, and do not charge for tea, coffee, or water. Therefore our total final holiday bill added together could have got us into the Grand hotel, Lebzelter, St Georg, or Romantik, in the same resort. Great resort, but the hotel let us down.

We stayed here for one week in Dec'11-Jan'12. The hotel and service impressed better than we expected after reading the comments about this hotel. Very cozy and quiet room with a balcony and an amazing view on the Alps. The bathroom was accomplished with a set of towels, a hair-dryer and even a cosmetic mirror. The room was cleaned every day, towels were changed once in 3 days. Hot & cold water 24 hrs. The regulated heating by our wish. Very friendly owners, especially Frau Ingrid (maybe I'm wrong with the spelling, it was difficult to pronounce her name). Tasty traditional austrian meals. The only bad thing - all soups were a litlle bit salty. The other dishes were quite good. Free WI-Fi in all halls (except restaurant) and almost in all rooms. In our room WI-FI worked from time to time. In general, we have very good impression and will stay here again with pleasure. :)

Room Tip: we stayed in room #206

We stayed here few days in the end of august 2011. The hotel locates a short walk from the railway station. Also the bus station and the cabelcar stations to the nearby mountains are close.
The lady who runs the hotel was really welcoming and was ready to help us as much as she could. I think her huspand doesn't speak english and most of the guests were german speaking people anyway. Sometimes we felt a bit outsiders there at the breakfast and at the dinner. The breakfast wasn't really versatile. I hoped atleast yoghurt and eggs. The dinner was ok unless you are vegetarian. Atleast they didn't give any vegetarian options. Anyway we ate there cause the dinner was included to the price and it saved us money to other things.
The room was quite small but clean. There was supposed to be wifi-connection but we couldn't get it work with the code we were given. There is no lift atleast we didn't see one and the stairs were quite narrow and steep. So if u have trouble with stairs or lots of luggage to carry back and forward it might not be the best place to stay.

We stayed here with a group in January 2011. As pensions go, this isn't a bad one. We were very lucky in that the room we got had a balcony (shared) and was quite large (by Austrian pension standards).

Our problem was also with the couple who run it. The food was adequate to be fair but on one night when some of our group didn't appear for dinner (they were on their holidays after all), they freaked at the rest of us who had turned up.

We were getting tap water at night with the meal (lets face it on a ski holidays there is a lot of drink taken apre ski so with dinner I like to try and re-hydrate with the h2o. At the end of the week a bill was produced for all this water even though this was never mentioned to me when I was ordering it. I think the water might have been more expensive even than the wine!

The pension does have a wellness centre which, to be fair, is of a very high standard.

If it wasn't for this couple's attitude then I would certainly go back. A pity really as it is very good value accommodation.

Stayed here for a week Jan 2011 with a group through directski.com
The hotel is run by eh.. an old lady and her family, who's least favourite thing is guess what? Running a hotel in Zell am See!!

Positives:
Rooms are clean, and cleaned every day
Quite close to ski lifts ( but most hotels in Zell are)

Negatives:
We were all given double beds and told they were twin rooms

Shower didn't work... old lady said she'd get it fixed, but her look said "won't get it fixed"
............... she went with the latter

Stayed half board.... food was dreadful at night, breakfast was the cheap version of continental. .. bare minimum.. ask for coffee and the eyes are thrown up to heaven!

Old lady locks the door of the hotel at 10pm, so you either have to bring the key with you or ring the bell to get in. This might seem ok, but unless you are glued to your room mate for the week, one of you will end up ringing the bell..... Old lady doesn't like this!

Old lady wouldn't give us 2 keys and disconnected the bell on day three!!

There's nowhere to hang out and have a drink in the hotel, so you either meet your group in the hall or have to meet them in some other bar. No atmosphere at all.

You'll be glad to know the old lady has also successfully trained her daughter and granddaughter to offer the same level of bad service, so we can enjoy this hotel for years to come!

I point the blame for this to directski.com. The only reason we travelled with them was because they had nice flight times, but they changed these a few weeks before we went. They probably do this alot with people. Pay the extra and go with crystal ski.

Still had a great week skiing though, ended up just having a laugh about this place!
