Situated in the centre of Zell am See, the Romantik hotel is the oldest known hotel in the resort. It has lots of character and is ideal for exploring this region. We were half board with a buffet breakfast consisting of hot and cold foods, hot andcold drinks, including presecco on a Sunday morning! You are allocated a dining table on arrival which you keep to for your stay. You are also entitled to help yourself to a packed lunch which is a nice touch if you are off walking or biking. Although centrally located, there was no outside noise from outside and this shouldn't be a cocern. At breakfast you are invited to selct what you would like for your evening meal from three menus available. The evening meal normally consists of between 4 - 5 courses. All meals are of an excellent quality and all staff are very attentive and friendly. After an 11 day visit, our menu was not repeated. Our room number was 106, first floor which didn't have a great view, although having a balcony. The room itself is of a very good size, including a queen bed, two sofas, flat screen tv and a nice en-suite. Good quality mountain bikes are available without any extra charge. The spa facilities are excellent with the one on ground level consisiting of a swimming pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. There is also a further naturist spa in the basement which are ultra modern and excellent. A hotel that can be highly recommended

Room Tip: Ask for a room with balcony overlooking the swimming pool

This hotel run by the Horl family was fantastic you felt as though you belonged they made you so welcome. Zel Am See is like a picture postcard. cannot find a bad thing to say about the hotel or the area . If you are planning to go to Austria you could not do better than Zel Am See and the Romantik hotel

Room Tip: We were in the new part which was good but i feel the old part of the hotel would have been the part...

The hotel, superbly run by the Horl family was the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The hotel's aim was that guests would arrive as strangers and leave as friends. It certainly lived up to that promise. The hotel's public areas were very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and, the icing on the cake was that it provided packed lunches from a good buffet! We would certainly love to go back there, as it did feel like home from home. Whilst staying in the Romantik, we had a look around the Grand hotel (5 star), and it seemed very impersonal, whereas the Romantik had the charm of a traditional Austrian hotel with 4 star luxury. The only downside was that the room didn't have anhy air conditioning, which would have been useful during a mini heatwave!

Room Tip: Apparently the rooms at the front can suffer from noise from the nearby pub, but during the Summer i...

Romantik Hotel is located in the centre of Zell Am Zee - an ideal overnight base to venture out into this beautiful area. The staff are really helpful and the rooms are traditionally decorated. They have a lovely sauna and outside/inside heated swimming pool. The food is not great so better to eat locally.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the garden area are quieter but a bit more expensive.

What a treasure of a hotel! Wonderfully atmosheric place, very spacious room and bath, very clean, and truly friendly and helpful personnel. The owner family is present at all times, truly caring that all guests feel welcome and at home. The hotel is tastefully decorated in country look, the wellness area has two very cosy areas: one with indoor and outdoor pool, whirlpool, steam baths, and massages, the second a naked area for lovers. Great idea - so every guest feels comfy. The food was delicious and typically Austrian. We loved the place!

Our time at the Romantik was cut very short by family illness and sadly we had to return home..
Our short stay found a beautiful traditional Austrian hotel in the centre of Zell Am See.
The hotel is very quaint and rooms very nice with balcony. The bathroom was okay could do with a bit of TLC but never the less was fine for us.. The only downside of the room was no Air Conditioning, when we stayed in late June/July it was very hot almost 30 degrees, even with the windows open it was very hard to sleep due to the humidity, this small change would enhance the hotel a great deal...
The spa area is lovely and relativley new with a nice relax rom to unwind.. the restaurant is good with nice food though dont expect massive portions. But the best part of our stay (probably due to our circumstances) was the reception staff, they were very good and helpful to us and for that they exceeded our expecatations.. overall its a nice hotel with and excellent location for the town, (bit of a walk in the winter to the lifts) in the summer and worth a look.

Room Tip: Keep your curtains closed during the day in the summer months to keep your room cooler

Probably the best food we had in Zell. Good service and reasanably priced. The additiional salad plates were very welcome as most other restaurants don't early do veg - you tend to get loads of meat and spuds / pasta. Well worth a visit for good and informal meal.
