Just a 5 minute walk from the all the shopping, site seeing , and restaurants in the quaint little town of Zell Am See.
From the moment you enter you are treated like royalty and a friend. The rooms, the breakfast, and the atmosphere are all wonderful.

We stayed for a week at the St Georg in May and loved it. If you want a family run hotel with a cosy, traditional feel and great service then look no further. The hotel is nicely located just outside the town centre in a quieter area (but still only a 5 minute walk). Easy access to the Schmittenhohe cable car with amazing views over Zell.

The Sauper family made us feel very welcome (there was always a smile and a hello to greet us when we came back from a day out/came down for dinner). The hotel staff were very attentive, especially Livia who waited our table in the restaurant for the week.

As other reviewers have said, one of the best things about this hotel is the FOOD! Great choice at breakfast and the 5 course dinner (we stayed half board) was delicious and varied. Nice to see some Austrian specialities appearing on the menu during the week as well.

Despite several days of rainy weather during our stay, we had a great holiday and hope to be back in the future. Vielen Dank Familie Sauper!

I agree with many of the reviews, this was an excellent place to stay. The room was spacious, the people were friendly and spoke English, the internet perfect, and I loved the balcony. It was also convenient for us to park and enter through the lower level and have the use of the lift. We did not use the spa area but it was immaculate and inviting. We actually decided to spend a second night here as it was a very good value.

Very cozy and home-like with incredible food.

Let's start with the food:
It was better than any other hotel food I'd ever had. It was like a home-made dish that made you feel warm and happy to be there.
The small selection, I think, was good. It meant that you weren't stuck on what to choose. You knew you had 2-3 choices and you had to pick one. The limitations restrict you from getting confused.

The rooms were basic but cozy and ideal. The pool facility was small, but it was never crowded. Very peaceful and a relaxing environment. The sauna is also a lovely addition to the hotel. Very relaxing. The location is very ideal and nearby everything. Very central and very close. It was not far from the local Hallenbad (pool) so it was fun for the kids. Not only that, but it was close to the cable cars which went up to the Kaprun mountains that are very scenic.

Coming back from the rainy outside, you feel like your home and the bar and the tea room are both very cute.

We wouldn't have wanted to stay in any other hotel in Austria. Perfect!

Room tip: It doesn't matter - they are all idyllic!

Lovely hotel - perfect in many ways. The rooms were very nice, with lovely views from the balcony. Perfect for couples, friends and children. Also the location is great for the town - close enough for a nice walk in, far enough away to not hear the general noise. Would definitely be back!
