“A home from home”

My family and I have been staying with the family Kathrein and their staff now for four years in a row, and our intention is to return next year to make it five! The staff and management could not be more welcoming and helpful, all of whom offer a service which makes you feel welcome, cared for and a valued customer.

The rooms are always spotless and very spacious, restaurant and food is very good and the other hotel facilities are more than enough to help you relax after a hard day on the ski slopes. Furthermore the hotel is in a great location to the local services and ski lifts, as well as being at the quiet end of town (but only 5 minutes walk to the bars of the centre).

The staff are also very professional at anticipating your needs before you even realise them yourself! For example, we arrived very late on our first night and waiting for us in the bar was a prepared foodplate.....even though we had never asked for it. It was a very nice and welcome touch. People who stand out for me were Sandy who manages the bar (very professional and welcoming host), Peter the Night Porter who was very kind in getting us checked in and providing extra information and Jose the Maitre D who learned our restaurant habits very quickly and had certain items at our table pre-arranged every evening...before we even arrived.

Many thanks to you all, and I look forward to next year!!

Room Tip: Just talk directly with reception.....tell them your needs. They will listen and accomodate you the...

We spent a great week in the Solaria on a lads skiing trip and it is the best skiing hotel i have stayed in for many years. Rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was hearty, ski room was warm. Just what you need for a skiing holiday. A few other things make the Solaria sand out. The pool, sauna and relaxation area are very well appreciated after a tough day on the mountain and/or tough night on the mountain. The hotel bar is perfect with a tremendous barmaid and the staff throughout the hotel were excellent. This is a very well run hotel. Location is good. Minutes from the lifts and downtown action.

Room Tip: No wifi in rooms 20-23.

39 of us enjoyed the Solaria Hotel and the surrounding mountains of excellent skiing. Very close to two gondolas, rental shop and lots of fun places apre ski. We ate breakfast and dinners in the hotel and the food was wonderfully prepared with three entree choices given to us. The staff is expertly trained and the hotel is very, very clean. Get a massage from either of the two therapists on location. Wonderful!

Our room was spotless and nicely laid out. Plenty of room, nice hot shower and jet tub. Plenty of hot water.

The rooms are hot at night and so a window must be opened. This is the only complaint we have of the hotel.

Room Tip: Everyone in our group had positive comments about their rooms. Recently updated. We were on the ba...

I've stayed at the Solaria a few times now and I have to say I've never had real problem. The hotel is only 3 mins walk to the ski lifts and within 5 mins you are in the heart of the best apres ski town in Austria. The rooms are big and clean, there was always hot water for a bath and the food was very good. I would definitely recommend the Solaria to someone looking for a friendly hotel in Ischgl.

Just returned from a wonderful 5 days in Ischgl, made all the better for staying at this wonderful hotel. Was away with 4 other guys and despite coming in for dinner a little worse for wear on one occasion we were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. We were even assisted by Nicco in getting into Hotel Poste, bar and club, without having to pay entrance and getting a free drink, nice one Nicco!
When not over doing the apres we enjoyed the spacious spa are which included a swimming pool, jacuzzi, a variety of hot rooms (steam, turkish, sauna) and a relaxing chillout room.
We went half board and the food was excellent, with freshly cooked and produced food available form the buffet area for starters and deserts and main courses cooked a la carte.
The only issue we had was that we were put into an apartment room, which was a little too small for 5 strapping lads. However we were not in the room all that long with the lovely conditions and other attractions of Ischgl!
It is located close to the main cable car up the mountain, within 4 mins walking, and has a reasonable rental shop that gave me a better rate than the shops I had been looking at on line. It also is close to some of the best apres bars at this end of town. (this end has less bars, and clubs but has Pacha close by.)
I would certainly recommend this hotel to a friend and I think that we will look to return here next year.

Room Tip: We had apartment 5, which would be good for a couple (nice four posted bed) and a single. But for 5...

This hotel was one of the worst hotel I have come across in my 30 years of travelling. We booked half board. Breakfast was good but the evening meals was nothing spectacular for a four star hotel. When we arrived on the first day at 8pm we found our rooms not prepared for us.
The major problem was the Manageress who made it a point that her children spent all their free time in the hotel lobby, sauna, swimming pool and restaurant. Complaining to the reception was no use. We were promised WIFI in the room but this was not available in our room.

Stayed for five days and I could not find fault with anything. The service was excellent, the staff friendly, the restaurant was top class and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Very central to ski lifts and the hotel leisure facilities were most enjoyable. We had a 6.30am taxi booked and the manager arranged for restaurant staff to provide us with a light breakfast at 6am. Now thats good service. Higly recommended.

Room Tip: We had apartment 1 which had a double room and a twin room and a very spacious living area.
