“Pros and Cons”
Reviewed 2 February 2014

Stayed here for a week with my family with young kids during ski season.

Pros: Very nice room, friendly staff, in town. Hotel shuttle to the gondola in town (Silveretta). Pretty good food for the half-board option. KinderClub is the best I have seen for a ski hotel in the Alps -- our kids absolutely LOVED it. They will even feed your kids at the KinderClub if you want. This is HUGE in a town known for its après ski scene! The pool is great too, with a reasonable water temp -- not too cool the way some European pools are.

Cons:
Ski shuttle leaves only at one time in morning, not afternoon shuttle. A 1/4 mile walk or so from the closest lift, which is a bit far for young kids in ski boots. (Strong intermediate skiers can ski down to within 100 meters of the hotel with some effort.)
Their ski locker room does not have individual lockers -- can't leave gloves or helmets there. My ski boots were taken by mistake my first day by another guest so I had to rent that day. Hotel declined to review video footage to find out who was responsible.
Alcohol is not included and it is expensive. Triple mark-up over retail price for mediocre wine. They do offer tap water but charge €2.50 per carafe!
King/queen beds are really too singles pushed together -- they don't even sheet them together or use a single large duvet. Common for Europe, but such a drag for romantic couples.
KinderClub doesn't start until 3pm for kids 3 and up, so if you have a tired or sick kid, one of the parents can't ski. Serious flaw.
In our 4 person suite, the kids bunk bed room was separated from the living area with master bed by a door made of transparent glass. Really? How does that work for privacy?

Room Tip: For families of 3-4, ask for one of the suites just above the lobby that looks out the front of the...

I stayed here with my wife and 9 year old daughter, in the last week of January 2014. The room takes a little getting used to, with the bath in the room, the toilet in the closet and the bunk beds in the wardrobe - contemporary with a twist. The facilities are very good for a family, excellent child care and the swimming pool and wellness area are very good. The breakfast is substantial, with fresh orange juice making a big difference. The evening meal is good with 3 main choices. The only real down side is the price of the wine. Expect to pay minimum €35 euro's per bottle. This is expensive even by Irish standards. Most guests were either drinking beer or buy wine in the local supermarket and having a glass in their rooms before dinner. The staff are very friendly and make you very welcome. The nearest lift is about 10 minutes walk. The hotel do provide a train ride to the lifts for guests each morning at 9.10. Overall the hotel is quite, which is ideal for a family holiday.

Room Tip: We had a quite room on the 2nd floor, away from the restaurant.

Dear John2014dd,

great to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us in Ischgl. We are confident that your review helps other families making their decision which hotel to book for their skiing holidays. Regarding the wine: our aim is to offer our guests a carefully selected choice of different wines and of course the wine offered by the glass tastes great and is of great quality as well.

All the best to you and your family from everybody at the Seiblishof

Very funny feeling in this hotel. All the staff is very friendly. Relativ good location compared with the cable station. The big problem with this hotel is the bathroom inside the room. And the toilet inside a closeth. Bathroom is not apart of the room, is quite in the midle of the room. No privacy inside. The family rooms are not prepared for a proper room for kids. They have a very small room for kids. The internet is working only in the early morning or in the hotel lobby. The price per room paid is not covering the service you receive.

Room Tip: Don't chose the renovated part. Problem with the bathroom

Dear bubu2012,

thank you for taking the time to write down your impressions. There are 57 rooms in our hotel in 8 different categories- and the family rooms with open wellness bathroom have been a family hit for many years now.
However we also have “classical” rooms with traditional bathrooms and layouts – lets talk about this, we would love to welcome you again some other time.

Best regards, the Seiblishof Team

We stayed here for a week over New Year 13-14 with family including children under 2 and a 4 year old. This is the first time we have done a hotel ski holiday having done chalets most years in the past. This hotel was lovely and fulfilled all our expectations. The room was large and comfortable, the only downside was having the bath in the same room as the beds especially when sharing with a sleeping toddler. The food was great: good breakfast buffet selection, fresh orange juicer machine, lovely croissants and breads, fresh pancakes each day amongst others, even Oysters on New Years morning. There was afternoon tea served in the bar area in the afternoon and dinner was a feast of courses with good variety each night.

The facilities for children were also fantastic. Our daughter enjoyed the creche with Mai and Alex each day while we hit the slopes. The nursery/play room was huge with every kind of toy you could imagine, including a baby room with a fenced in area of soft mats, baby gyms, rockers, bouncer chairs and cots for daytime naps. There is a good sized softplay downstairs with ball pit etc. Upstairs has a climbing wall, foam shapes for bouncing around on, tables and chairs for crafts and a good supply of books and push around toys too. This meant we could leave the kids without feeling too guilty. They also provided lunch at midday and supplied nappies also which was great. Quite often when we came to pick her up at 3pm when the older kids session begins, she was still sleeping in a cot so we could enjoy the afternoon tea! There is also a kids dining room next to the main dining area with an earlier dinner sitting and kids buffet. The buffet was a pasta and sauce option plus one other thing each night such as chicken skewers, breaded fish, soup etc. then ice cream, jelly, chocolate mousse. There is a sink, microwave, steriliser, childrens cutlery etc in this dining area. There is also a kids pool and the main pool is also warm so ideal for kids.

The hotel's location is also good, being at the edge of the town it wasn't noisy at night and was not a long walk down the main street to the Silvrettabahn. It however was very very busy in the morning so we learned that it was quicker to walk on further to the Fimbabahn. We got a great view of the spectacular new years eve fireworks from the hotel also, the best in town! You can view from rooms at the front of the hotel above the front entrance or outside in the street in front of the hotel was a popular viewing spot! You can ski almost right to the door of the hotel too which is great.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful in the hotel and you can get your ski passes from reception there which seemed to be cheaper than the Crystal price!

Would highly recommend this hotel if you want a ski holiday with young children!

Room Tip: 2nd floor may be noisy as that's where the restaurant and kids dining room is.

An excellent hotel, with a very high standard of food, facilities and presentation. Albeit, the decor may not be upto the latest trend throughout, frankly, who cares. This is hotel offers great value, ski in from the slopes to the rear side door, literally and possibly some of the best views looking up the valley from the rooms situated to the rear and on the 5th floor. 5 minute walk to the Silvretta cable car and Apres ski bars. Would recommend this hotel.

This is a great hotel for kids in a lively party town. It is about 6 minutes walk from gondola so walkable for little ones (although the queues for gondola in the morning are ridiculous) the kids club is fab, food delicious and varied. The rooms are a good size and clean spacious and warm. The staff are very friendly, helpful and polite and it is great for families as kids can run around and you don't have to worry as the hotel is small enough not to get lost. The two girls Mae and Liane that run the kids club kept them entertained and we actually couldn't keep the kids away from the club they loved it so much, they would ask to go everyday after skiing. The hotel is situated at the end of the main street so is at the quiet end although you can still be woken by apres skiers coming home late at night. Only disappointing things are the pool is too cold especially after a long day on the slopes (not even the kids wanted to go in which is unheard of) and wine in hotel is expensive. We had a great relaxing holiday at this lovely family hotel. Probably not for singletons wanting to party or romantic couples!
