“Great location, great welcome, great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2014

I've just returned from a 4 day minibreak stopping at the Staffler. It's a fantastic value for money hotel, with friendly staff, good wholesome food, excellent location and is very well organised. Yana and Nick, the owners are great hosts, and organised a perfectly troublesome free transfer to and from the hotel which meant that 3.5 days of skiing was able to be packed in. I'm already thinking of returning with my family for Christmas.
Thanks Nick, Yana and the team.
James

I don't usually give reviews, but after our recent stay at the Staffler, wanted to share our positive experience. It's not a shiny glossy hotel, but practical, warm and so friendly. All the staff take the time to talk to their guests and take a real interest in your skiing activities. Any problems with the local ski school and they will help. The evening meal is something to enjoy, simple tasty food, guests all eat at the same time and share tables, don't let this put you off.... this really adds to the atmosphere. Nick, the manager, introduces the soup, this starts the giggling and then a weather update, ski touring if available and anything else he chooses to share.

Sadly our 12 yr old son took a tumble on the last day and needed an ambulance and hospital treatment, I was devastated at the time, Nick, Yana, Plum, Emma and the rest of the staff, plus other guests were so supportive to us. Even let us keep our room for an extra night. Nothing was too much trouble.

The Staffler is so much more than a hotel. Thank you.

Thanks for the lovely review. We were really upset by Harvey's accident and hope he's much better now - and hasn't been put off skiing!

We enjoyed a great family holiday here and these guys really know how to look after you. From the delicious homemade 3 course meal every night to having plenty of hot water for our showers, I can see why most of the guests were on their 3rd or 5th visit.
Apres ski homemade cakes, friendly staff and lots of candles make the bar cosy and a zipfer beer or a glass of prosecco before dinner is lovely too.r
It's around £40 per night for dinner, bed and breakfast which really is excellent value and they sorted out our transfers to and from the airport for a small fee.
The hotel staff took us ski guiding, which took us to some lovely hidden gems including an ice bar, secret hot chocolate stops, some really beautiful ski runs followed by cosy mountain restaurants serving excellent food. The cave bar is underneath the hotel and serves great cocktails for apres ski and has live music or a good d.j every night. It opens at 9pm and the children are allowed in until 10pm for a bit of a dance and to play pool after dinner if they want, but it gets very busy after 11pm. As it is under the hotel you can't really hear it though. We are booking to go back next winter with another family.

My partner and I stayed at the Staffler last weekend with our friends. We were really looked after by Yana, Nick and their colleagues! Nothing was a problem, a relaxed atmosphere, scrumptious evening meals, sensible breakfast, friendly apres-ski bar, quirky fun Cave - loved the 80's night. Want to return! Soon! :-)

I have stayed at the Hotel Staffler many times from the age of six with family and friends, with the service you are always met with a smile, and you could not wish for a more welcoming and friendly staffing team.

The hotel its self is in the perfect location, a five minute walk to the slopes and in the centre of beautiful Niederau, a resort perfect for those not acustomed to snow sports.

For what it costs the rooms are great, with comfortable beds and good showers. The hotel is spotless.
The food caters for all, and it is just what you need after a day on the slopes.

Nick and Yana themselves are fantastic, and they will do everything they can to make your stay great, for example, in December I went on a short trip out to Neiderau and the Hotel Staffler to get assesed for my GCSE skiing assesment, and since Nick had a former England international skier staying there, Nick convinced him to assess me! Truly going above and beyond for everyone. Thanks Nick and Yana, I had a great stay. Oscar H.

Just returned from a great stay at Hotel Staffler. Nick and Yana are truly wonderful hosts, who really care about whether their guests are well looked after. The hotel is warm, comfortable and so clean, you can walk around in your socks after taking your ski boots off. The breakfasts in the cosy dining room are just right, not too much fussing at that time of the morning, and the three course suppers were delicious (particularly the shepherds pie). Everyone eats together at the same time, which is really friendly. The staff are wonderful, professional, caring and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. As complete novice skiers, Nick and Yana helped us with everything, and made sure we had a great skiiling holiday. One thing I really loved about this place is the fact it wasn't pretentious. Lovely cakes at teatime, ski guiding, ski tuition, expert staff, warm friendly welcome great service, and good, wholesome food. I highly recommend this hotel, and will certainly be returning.
