We have just returned from a weeks trip to Niederau and stayed at the Hotel Hannes. As all the other comments have stated we could not fault it, Reggie is a fantastic host and made us all feel comfortable and welcome. The food at the Hotel Hannes was first class with 2 choices of evening menu selected at breakfast time. TV in rooms is all in German ( no English speaking channels except Euro sport) Be aware that Niederau does not have any real intermediate runs for those looking for good green and easier blue runs to practice on. This was our teams fifth year skiing together and other than the nursery slopes some of us could not ski the other areas available because they were to steep, labelled blue runs on the piste maps but more like red runs. Bobo's bar at the ski school good for quick snack and a beer

Just completed a weeks stay at the Hannes and enjoyed every minute of it. Superbly run by Reggie and her family it is an ideal place to spend a week.

Accommodation

Clean, practical and comfortable rooms with plenty of drawer and hanging space. Comfortable beds and a T.V, which is fine if you are fluent in German. We had to keep a window permanently open as it was always hot.

Food

Excellent breakfast choice with bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs every day as well as the usual cheese, meats yoghurt etc. More than enough to set you up for the slopes. You choose your evening meal from a choice of two at breakfast. Evening meals consist of soup, a main course then dessert. We enjoyed every night other than the fish on the Friday but that was just our personal tastes as it was fine. The bar is open from around 4pm each day and charges more or less the same as bars in the resort.

Facilities

There are separate boot and ski rooms on the ground floor with plenty of space so you are not jostling for position every morning. The sauna and steam room are modern (English rules apply) and we used them every day. The ski bus travelling in both directions is less than two minutes walk away, even in ski boots.

We much preferred our stay here to the Harfenwirt we stayed at two years ago. It is smaller and friendlier and Reggie has a memory greater than a modern computer. After booking in a at reception your name is with her seemingly forever. A good mix of ages stayed whilst we were there and we were never short of someone to have a laugh with.

Book with no worries.

A very comfortable hotel and excellent food. All members of the family contribute to the good service offered. 'Mother', Reggi, is good with her spoken english and has quite a wit. Second helpings of food are regularly offered. The hotel is about 100metres from the nearest chairlift and a nursery slope even closer.
Other than the pistes close at hand, the ski bus takes visitors up the valley to more pistes at Auffach.

We will definitely return there.

The hotel, hospitality and food were all very good. No complaints about our stay there during a skiing week in January, would certainly consider returning next year.
The resort is great for beginner and intermediate standard skiers. The surroundings are picturesque because there are not too many buildings around, it is a small village resort with some nightlife provided by hotels and a couple of bars, if that is all you want it is ideal.

All the reviews are pretty much the same for this hotel! Its a great place to stay! The food is true home cooked food, just what you need after a day on the slopes. Rooms are good, beds comfy, shower hot and the balconys are great. Reggie and Hannes (Mother and Son) are great on the front of house side and Mr Reggie is great in the kitchen. Great Value hotel thats a must. Thanks :)
