If anyone is having any doubts about staying here then don't!!

The hotel is lovely, all the staff are friendly and polite. The bedrooms are spacious (we stayed in a family room) and clean. The food is to die for, this was probably the thing we enjoyed the most and we really looked forward to the evening meals along with the free drink.

The ski area is great, just perfect for our standard of skiing/boarding (intermediates). The kaiserland ski school was fabulous. It was our 6 year olds third ski holiday and she was out with the ski instructor skiing blues and part of red runs and using chair lifts for the first time. It was our 4 year olds first time and she done so well in ski school which was taught in a fun way :)

I have to give credit to the guys who prepare the pistes here because this was a terrible season for snow and warm weather but we were able to ski the whole area other than a few pistes down to the valley on the south side of the mountains.

All in all it was a fantastic holiday and although I only got back a few days ago I'm considering booking up for next year already.

Stayed: March 2014

Just back from our 3rd time at the Kaiser and 4th time in Scheffau. This lovely hotel just gets better although it seemed more expensive than in previous years. However the reinvestment in the hotel continues with redecoration and new furnishing in the bar and reception area. We were lucky enough to reserve one of the new family rooms with bunk beds that drop down into a sofa or single bed. Very practical and much more space. New bathrooms, new layout, carpets, curtains and redecoration. Perfect for a family of four with two children who are now probably to big to sleep on a sofa bed together. The food as always was excellent, varied and well presented and the house wine and beer served with the meals very drinkable.

Special thanks to our waiter Christian and the young chap in the bar (sorry I can't remember your name) The staff in the main are always helpful, cheerful, friendly and polite. My only gripe is that the hotel seemed overrun with children this year compared to previous years.. However, the problem was made worse by parents who took their kids to the pool and then cleared off to the spa. Consequently mayhem ensued. The same could be said at night while parents sat in the bar there were children running about upstairs when they were probably supposed to be in bed? hence this was more to do with the parents & children than the hotel its self although the management could have possibly stepped in and sorted it out.

Hannis ski hire down in the village gave expert care and assistance and although there was no snow in the village there was plenty at the top of the mountain. The ski bus service stops outside the hotel for the 5 min ride down the hill to the gondola and Hannis ski hire shop where you can store your gear at no extra cost if you rent from them a definite bonus when travelling with children, no hauling multiple skis etc back to the hotel in ski boots. The bus was punctual and runs every 10 mins or so. We also used ski school scheffau this year, special thanks to Xavier.

Would we recommend this hotel? most definitely, are we back next year? no its time for a change, but we probably will go back again in the future. In conclusion even though the prices have increased the hotel still offers excellent value for money when compared with the others in the village and the facilities available.

HALF TERM
Hotel is away from the pistes but only a short drive away .Walking is not a realistic prospect as busy main road to cross.

However

The food ,the facilities ,staff ,rooms and facilities all simply brilliant.

I have nothing but high praise of the hotel and beautiful area.

Most of the guests were families who return year after year and its not difficult to see why.

Would I return -YES

Probably the best family hotel I have ever stayed in

Just returned from a week at the Kaiser in Scheffau. This was our second visit (4th to Scheffau).
This year we were a party of 17! (4 families 9 kids- children mainly aged 7-10). A mix of very experienced skiers to complete novices.
We all had a brilliant time. The food is excellent and wine glasses were forever being refilled. The rooms are clean and sufficient - we were in room 3 - just along from play room. I actually enjoyed not having to trudge up and downstairs (we were upstairs last year) and the view was lovely. We were close to the playroom but were not disturbed. Our friends were in rooms 1+2 and said it was a bit noiser there. The spa is lovely - the kids love having their own sauna - just for kids. All the staff are incredibly friendly - our waitress was Katerina and we all thought she was great.
The Skiwelt area is great - so much for everyone - although I always preferred the skiing in the Scheffau area.
As far as I can see there is only one downside and that is having to get the bus up/down to the gondola with all of the children. The bus picks up at the Land Alpin Hotel first and sometimes it is full before it gets to the Kaiser. We have skied down last year - but as someone said there is a bit of a trudge at the bottom.
For the 4th year running we hired our equipment at Sportshop Rainer - across the road under the Hotel Land Alpin. They are great guys, witty and very helpful. No problems if you want to change boots/skis later in week. From looking at literature I think they are lot less expensive than Hansis - but quite like the idea of Hansis keeping your equipment in warm rooms at bottom of gondola without need to take them on bus. That being said I am not a great skier so when it came to the end of the day I was never keen to ski back down the hill and took the gondola - so I left my skis/poles in the lockers up at the top station (there are lockers you can pay one euro/day but most people just left their skis and poles unsecured in the locker room overnight. Still had my boots but that wasn't really a problem. Ski school is great. Previously we booked group lessons but this year we had some private lessons.
Crystal tend to be cheaper for younger families but they seem to only get a few rooms from the Kaiser - so they sell out pretty quickly for peak times. 2014 we booked directly but we got in early enough for 2015 through Crystal. No rooms now available for February break in 2015 through Crystal.
Can't wait to go back again next year.

Little to add to my review from last year! Still an excellent hotel, great staff (good to see so many still there from last year - that must say something about good management!). Main change (that I noticed) is that wifi now seems to be throughout the hotel.

We went a few weeks earlier this year, and there wasn't quite so much snow - but the pistes were all in superb condition, and we could still ski from close by the hotel (100 yard walk) down to the old Brandstandl gondola.

We'll be back next year, in all probability! (And maybe in the summer...??)

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side get a bit of road noise, but have great views to the ski area.

This was our 4th time and things are as previous years.
We really like this Hotel..from the staff, food, spa, location and when travelling with 2 kids all these things need to be precise.
The skiing, even after the 4th year is still great..the runs not too long, not crowded and even if you have room for more food, every mountain restaurant is excellent too.
Perfect for families.
We are booking up for next year already.

Room Tip: room 222...had wifi in room
