First let me say that the Hotel Valentin has the best location in all of Solden. The valley stretches for quite a while and most people have to take a bus to get to one of the two town gondolas, but the Hotel Valentin is right next to one of them. Walk out of the hotel and in about 50 meters you are right at the Gondola entrance. To make things even easier, there is an escalator that brings you up to the gondola loading dock. Along with a ski rental store in the basement of the hotel, the whole skiing experience could not be easier and who doesn't want easy!

The staff at the Valentin are very friendly and hospitable. From the moment you come there to the time you leave they make a special effort to make sure that your stay is pleasant. The food also is excellent. The morning breakfast is everything that you want. When you come back from skiing this is a small apres-ski food presentation with soups, meats and a dessert. The dinners are exceptional with 5 courses and they are definitely gourmet.

The lobby and dining area have just been renovated. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the rooms. They have not been renovated yet but even still they were nice with lots of storage and closet space. There also is a very nice Relax & Sauna area which is great after a day of skiing.

If apres ski partying is your thing, the bar located on the side of the hotel is one of the hot spots in the valley. The nice thing is that it rocks, but by 6:30 it completely shuts down and you would never know about all the fun/craziness that goes on during the apres ski time.

All and all I was exceptionally happy with my stay at the Valentin and the package that include meals and lift tickets was very reasonably price.

Room Tip: The rooms on the side of the Gondola have a much more interesting view. Though it gets crazy from 3...

Perfectly situated right next door to one of the main lifts in Sölden - and it's own après bar (which can be noisy - ask fir a room on the other side of the hotel). That said, Sölden isn't a big place and a ski pass gets you free use of the buses, so location isn't critical.

The rooms and hotel were traditionally Austrian - seemingly a bit 80s and chintzy. All very clean (as was the restaurant), but we left with the impression that the place was making such a profit it didn't need to be on top of its game or sink money into modernisation. It was certainly expensive to much better hotels in e.g. Schladming.

Finally - staff. Most were very friendly and accommodating - but the staff at dinner tended to hurry you through if you chose to eat at the end of the sitting (which was limited to an hour and a half).

Would I go back? To Sölden, probably not. If I did, would I go to Hotel Valentin? Again, probably not...

We spent a wonderful Christmas weekend at hotel Valentin. This family run hotel has very friendly staff. They offered a beautiful gathering with glass of champagne on Christmas eve with local musicians. The hotel is located right next to the Gletscherbahn, and also there is a Ski/Snowboard rental store in the basement.

We've been in holidays during the week 7-14 April 2012 in Tirol, for a skiing.
Hotel is nice, excellent located, near the cable-car. services: excellent. Internet not for free, which you would expect from this hotel. Food is very good.
Don't stay on the side where the apres-ski place is (facing cable car), if you are senzitive to noise, it can get very loud in the afternoon.....
Rooms are very warm. I could sleep with open window.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the cable car side if you want to sleep in the afternoon

Just came back from the one week stay in Hotel Valentin in Soelden. Great staff, excuisite cuisine and perfect service.
Now about skiing:
1. The hotel is located really 20 m from the main ski-lift. There is no better location.
2. You can rent your skis in the Intersport in the -1 level of the hotel and the quality of Premium package is excellent. We have many years of skiing and rental experience and the skis where the best ever.
3. Near the shop you can leave your equipment and then just take the elevator to your room.
4. From the ski slopes you come in the evening on your skies back to the valley and the track ends infront of the hotel on the other street side.

And use the wednesday nigh ski offer from the city of Soelden. Good fun :)

Also the ski area of Soelden was perfect prepared and professionally managed.

Room Tip: Take the room not looking into the street, because then you can sleep more relaxed. Best rooms, in m...

We were only staying for a short ski trip but from the moment we arrived (too early for normal check in but given the rooms as they were ready) to when we checked out we were really looked after.
The Schwarz family are true professionals and work very well as a team. The rooms were very comfortable and the food and service in the restaurant were first class.
I would not hesitate to stay there again and also to recommend the hotel to others.
This time I was there with 4 good mates but would have been equally happy to be there with my wife as a couple; or with friends.

Room Tip: i would expect th quieter rooms would be facing the back and to the opposite side to the lift statio...

I Chose this hotel as it is listed in the Good Ski Guide and I was struggling to find a hotel with two rooms for only four nights. The Valentin was 80 Euro per night cheaper than the competition. Solden is 1 1/4 hours from Innsbruck and is a very direct journey. The hotel is at the end of the resort next to a brand new super fast Gondola. There is an Intersport below the lift that you can pre book hire equipment on line and save 15%. The location of the hotel means you can store your skis in the hotel and switch into comfy shoes within minutes so you lose only a couple of minutes before hitting the apres ski bar attached to the side of the hotel. The food was top notch with both a cooked breakfast and five course evening meal. The hotel bar was very expensive. I was concerned the hotel may be a long way from the town however it is a pleasant after dinner stroll with an Irish bar half way (The nearest bar is a strip joint that opens at midnight!). The only draw back was the final run to the town which ends by the new gondola. For the last few hundred yards it is covered mainly with manufactured snow and is narrow , bumpy and churned up at the end of the day.
