We have just returned from 4 weeks in Westendorf at the Hotel Briem. This was our 31st visit to this resort and we always stay at Hotel Briem.
The hotel is family run and is always very friendly. The staff are very helpful. We meet many guests from different countries who, like us,return every year - a testimony to the quality of this hotel.
We find this hotel to be excellent value for money. The breakfast is a cold buffet with eggs and an egg boiler available. The evening meal consists of 3 courses and a salad buffet which are of a good size and excellent quality. There is a choice of main meal.
Over the years we have seen many improvements to the hotel. The bar and 2 restaurants are well decorated and light and airy. The rooms have recently had new bathrooms fitted and are of a good size. Everywhere is spotlessly clean.
The hotel is in an ideal situation on the edge of the village. It is only a couple of minutes away from the centre but enjoys a quiet situation with fantastic views from the sun terrace across the Nachsollberg.
We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the beautiful village of Westendorf.

Just returned from our 6th summer holiday in this great family run hotel. This hotel is in the lovely Austrian village of Westendorf which is an ideal centre for visiting places of interest in the surrounding area either by bus or train.Westendorf is also an excellant area for walking. Christine, her family and staff make you feel very welcome. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are a good size and comfortable. The hotel also has had a lot of modernisation done and is still ongoing. The meals are first class home cooked Austrian food with a very varied menu.

My family and I have recently returned from our stay at the Hotel Briem, where we had a great holiday.
The hotel is ideally situated close to the centre of the village which allows many of the rooms to boast unspoiled views of the stunning surroundings.
The rooms are of a good size and have good storage facilities, including a free safe for personal belongings. The rooms are clean and are cleaned on a daily basis by a friendly team.
Meals are more than adequate with a typical continental breakfast with cereal, rolls, bread, cheese, meat etc and there is no limit to how much or little you eat. Dinner is a 3 (4 if you choose salad) course typical Austrian meal with a choice of main course. Portion sizes are good and you never leave feeling hungry.
The family and staff are friendly and helpful and are clearly have a commitment to improve hotel by putting in new bathrooms and the recently refurbished dining room and reception area.
Tap water is not served at meal times but this is common throughout Austria and you are advised this by your rep on arrival.
Looking forward to returning to Hotel Briem in the future.

The Briem is a comfortable hotel with good atmosphere. The bedrooms whilst plain are more than adequate with good duvets. The bathrooms have been modernised and are fine . The two dining areas, one for tour companies and one for private bookings are modern and nicely done in .Austrian style. The lounge/bar area and is very pleasant and has a good atmosphere. The nail game, however, has been removed which is disappointing. The 3 course evening meals[ with choice] are good value although pork appeared in various forms a little too often.Breakfasts, both hot and cold, are very good with plenty of choice. The heating in the hotel was good ,in fact ,it was too warm at times.Christine and family are friendly and efficient and the extra staff employed are excellent. All in all a good 3 star hotel in an excellent position.

Quietly situated, the hotel is close enough to the village centre and all amenities for there to be no problem of access to anything in the locality.
The public areas are clean and inviting and the service is of an exceptionally high standard. Everyone is friendly, willing and very helpful. The prices are very reasonable for Austria.
We enjoyed the dinners immensely. They are beautifully home cooked and appetising , with some Austrian flair but not too far out to be off putting but yet have a good variety. . Portions are generous and we always have to go on a diet on our return!! The breakfasts too are delicious with plenty of choice.
The bedrooms are clean and well furnished. Quiet and comfortable, they offer ecellent rest and relaxation after a hard days walking or whatever.
The fact that we and many others have returned there year in and out surely indicates that here is an excellent hotel with very high standards for a 3*.
