The Hotel Anna Palace is in a beautiful old building built by a merchant in the 1880s and (just about) overlooking the Danube. We stayed in the first floor VIP suite which had a lovely winter garden and two balconies overlooking the hotel's terrace restaurant and the river. The suite has a good sized bedroom, winter garden/ conservatory area, seating area and a good sized bathroom with bath tub.
The service is excellent, the hotel is in a good area and the terrace restaurant serves good food with the best waiting staff we've come across in Bulgaria. A nice touch is that they offer hotel guests a 15% discount in the restaurant. There is free parking outside the hotel.
We were shown a twin room that was a bit small, dark and disappointing but we can't recommend the suite enough, especially as it was only about 10 Euros a night more.
A very nice little hotel that we will stay in again when we are next in Ruse.More
