The location and house are very special. Such a quiet oasis in the desert. And the owners have done everything to make it as perfect as possible. It would be a great place for a wedding or family reunion, but also was a nice getaway for a couple.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet. The oasis room was quite large and private. I might choose a room in the ho...

We arrived at night and they left the room open and the light. The room was huge with a kitchenette. Nicely decorated and very clean. The property is large and very pretty. The breakfast changes every day and the first day they made French toast which we don't eat so they accommodated us very nicely. The last day the breakfast was corn flack quiche which was quite good if a bit unexpected. I definitely would return!

So glad that we decided to stay here on our visit to Joshua Tree National Park. We stayed in the Sunshine Room - clean, spacious, quiet, and inviting. Friendly and welcoming hosts made us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious and served in the beautiful "Great" room. Grounds and gardens very inviting. Easy drive to Joshua Tree NP and the visitor center in Twentynine Palms. Very good restaurants just a few minutes drive that were recommended by the owner. Loved Joshua Tree National Park and this wonderful place made our stay in the desert truly enjoyable.

It was a beautiful place and luxurious indeed! We stayed 2 nights in the Cholla Room and it included a kitchen, lounge, bathroom and private front verandah. Everything was superbly clean, fresh and the whole look of the room was absolutely beautiful and the beds and couch were super comfortable. Breakfast was served home made and fresh each morning and the owners were very friendly and kind. I highly recommend this place!

Having spent almost two weeks in the desert, the Roughley was my temporary home. Friendly and knowledgable hosts, and a great staff. I felt welcomed at every turn. A most pleasant place to be, clean and quiet.

We stayed here for a 4-day desert getaway, and we could not have had a better time. The hosts were super-friendly. The rooms were large, comfortable, and well-appointed. Breakfast was delicious (and each one was different). I liked the fact that the room staff noticed that a bathroom light was burned out and replaced it without my having to say anything. The grounds of the inn are a very pleasant place to read, sketch, or just hang out if you don't feel like heading out to Joshua Tree National Park (which is more or less just out the front door). One warning though: don't be put off by the road there. The place is literally on the edge of town and you have to go some distance down a rather desolate road that seems to be going nowhere.

It's hard to believe that you, traveling the high desert of Southern California, would find a B&B like this and yet it wasn't a mirage. Roughley Manor, owned by its fabulous hosts Jan and Gary, is a cozy, traditionally styled place, equipped with the expected amenities of our days. The rooms are spacious, very comfortable, furnished with love to detail, clean and quiet, perfect for a relaxing stay. Jan spoils you every day with a good breakfast, which, on request, considers vegetarian needs as well. Home made cookies and a selection of teas, are a complimentary offer at the relevant time in the afternoon.
Ideally located in the vicinity of the spectacular Joshua Tree National Park it's only a 5-7 Min ride to the entrance of the park. Jan and Gary will provide you with any information you need and if you just like to hang out in your nice room and watch a movie...a Video/DVD library offers you plenty of alternative options to the TV-Program. Another fun thing to do is checking out all the murals 29 Palms has established throughout the town and if you're hungry after all, try the Restaurant of the 29 Palms Inn or the Bistro 29 in 29 Palms. Also Very much appreciated: Good complimentary wifi - connection in the rooms.

Room Tip: We've stayed three days in the "Oasis" and an additional night in the "Cholla&qu...
