“Great Base for a trip to Joshua Tree!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 December 2013

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn during a recent trip to Joshua Tree. This hotel provides a good value for a new and realatively modern facility! The rooms are large(great for families) and they have a small pool and spa. They have free breakfast and a small gym. It is a few miles from the Oasis entrance to Joshua Tree and about 15 miles east of the Johua Entrance.

29 Palms does not have much is anything going on. The hotel itself is accross from a mediocre strip mall. In the mall, there is a Stater Brothers (grocery store). Subway, Burger King and a Dollar Tree. Down the street is a Pizza Hut and Dollar General. If you are going to Joshua Tree, there arent any facilities to buy food so you can stock up on water and snacks before you go.

If you are going to Joshua Tree, this is by far the best place to stay! You can arrive off the 62 from San Diego or LA and enter into the Joshua Entrance. From there you wind around the park and exit the Oasis exit and end up a few miles from the hotel. The only other hotel that looked ok is the Holiday Inn Express. It also has good reviews on TA. The next day you can enter back into the park from the Oasis Entrance. One $15 pass is good for 15 days. There is also a good trail right by the hotel called the 29 Palms Oasis Trail if you want a hike that is close to the hotel.

What I wouldnt recommend to anyone going to Joshua Tree to stay in Palm Springs, It is too far and you have to enter from the South which is FAR LESS interesting than the East and West entrances.

I think this is a great base hotel!

As a tip, it was very cold when I went so I would bring scarf, glove and hat to stay warm.

Room Tip: I chose a room on the back side since the front side faces the highway

I have to say I was immediately impressed with how helpful the front desk staff was. As a person that stays in hotels pretty much weekly, I found it to certainly be many steps above what you would normally expect at this price range. The first things I noticed when opening the door to my room was how large it was. It is also ultra modern looking. While there is a wall that separates the sleeping area from the sitting/work area, the wall has a large opening in it that aides in the "open" feeling. The walls are a nice off white and plum color, which is nice for a desert setting. Several mirrors in the room make dressing (I'm a business person) very functional and quick. Also they were very interested in giving me many eating recommendations, cab numbers and anything else I might need. Overall this is probably the best experience I've had in 2013. Awesome Awesome Awesome experience!

Room Tip: Try to get a first floor room if possible, my understanding is that they are slightly larger than al...

The is a newer and well kept Fairfield. It is on the main road and sets in between the two entrances on the 29 palms side of Joshua Tree Park.

Breakfast was good. Staff was polite.
Be sure to bring a bathing suite because the hotel has a nice hot tub which felt great after walking up and down rocks in the national park all day.

We had an excellent stay at this Marriott hotel. The facility looks brand new and everything looked immaculately clean. The front desk provided the best customer service and advised where to dine in the area. The room was actually a suite and the mattresses were so comfortable. The breakfast provided had a variety of choices including blueberry waffles. We will stay here again if we go to Joshua Tree National Park in the future.

I was absolutely delighted with my stay there. The hotel is very nice, well located if you want to visit Joshua Tree national park. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bed is very comfortable, and it smell very fresh. The fitness room is small but nice. Only good things to say about this hotel, I would definitely stay there again if I'm in the area.

Pitchers of sparkling ice water greeted us on a sweltering July afternoon. Friendly, professional staff checked us in quickly. Hallways smelled fresh and clean; the hotel was immaculate. Rooms were spotless, spacious, well appointed, and the beds were clean and comfy. Pool was refreshingly clear and uncrowded and the hot tub was a gift to weary travelers. Gas grill and shaded tables provided a great place for families to eat on the cheap. Hotel breakfast was included and had something enjoyable for everyone in our group of 23, which required quite a variety of offerings. The manager, Rob Fleck was wonderfully accomodating by grouping our rooms together and greeting new arrivals. If we ever go back to 29, we will stay here again, for sure!

I stayed here recently with my family on vacation. The hotel is new, clean and comfortable. In addition, the morning breakfast buffet was plentiful and full of variety. The staff is friendly and helpful. They gave us some good tips about visiting Joshua Tree National Park. This a great place to stay if visiting Joshua Tree National Park!
