El Rancho Dolores Motel

We were looking for something reasonable in 29 Palms and we were lucky to have found this nice motel. The price was average for a motel room, but better than in other motels in this town, probably due to the fact that it is so close to Joshua Tree NP . The room was clean, we had a working microwave and a fridge, the bed was comfy and large, sheets clean. Shower was hot and had ok pressure and they provided a little bar of soap and some shampoo. The wi-fi worked very well and was fast, we could park the car just outside of the room. It was a very hot day and we decided to take a dip in the pool. It's a very nice, well kept pool under the palmtrees and it is open all night long so we went there at 11 pm and had the whole place to ourselves! There are lights there so the time of the day was not a problem. It was great. The young man who checked us in was helpful and gave us some tips about where to go out and buy groceries and get cheap gas. The aircon was a bit loud but this is the only thing that could have been better. All in all, I recommend this place, it's a great, budget friendly choice in Twentynine Palms.
It also seems that the independent movie "Twenytinine Palms" used this motel as one of the filming locations. I am 99% sure.

Our one night stay was clean and comfortable and we were happy with the price. We didn't expect frills and there were none. They did provide shampoo and soap. The front desk was helpful and although we didn't swim, the pool looked inviting. Parking was available directly in front of our room - which was a plus with a car load of camping equipment. Located close to Josha Tree NP.

Overall the hotel is great for the prices. The rooms are large with plenty of storage. The staff is very nice and helpful. The only complaint I really have about the place is the Internet, it advertises free wireless, but unless you are close to the office it doesn't work. Our room was all the way at the end from the office and was unable to access the Internet at all from the room even though only one room away was a wifi antenna.

Why would someone want more than what we had at this motel when you visit Joshua Tree NP? Good rooms, good shower (a bit short but with good pressure), spotlessly clean. The bed could be better (they tend to have these soft mattresses) even though it was huge. The wireless connection could be much better. I'd also recommend 29palms as a quitter place than Joshua Tree or Yucca Valley.

Stayed here whilst on a road trip. Checking in was quick, guy was friendly and advised on places to eat. Lawned area to front was neat, didn't notice the pool on arrival but looked clean in the morning.
Room was ok, ok size,ok decor, little jaded, cracked tiles in the shower area. Stain on carpet and burn mark on sheet, that said it did seem clean and smelt fresh. Usual three pillow affair, two for me and one for the wife this time - why is this so common on king sized beds, four or two large please!
Bottom line is it's an average motel at an average price, would probably try another in the area before coming back, that said, I wouldn't write this one off.

We stumbled across this motel the night before we wanted to visit Joshua Tree. The town itslef is not much to write home about but this motel provided us with a clean, comfortable room for the night and at only $55 I couldn't really complain. The swimming pool was an addded bonus after a long day driving through the desert. All in all for a quick stop over we couldn't have wanted more.

My wife and I stayed two nights in the Motel "El Rancho Dolores". The room we slept in was big enough to lay out our suitcases beside the bed.
The cleanliness of the room is acceptable.
If you have any questions, the employees at the reception help anythime.
The location of the Motel is near the North entrance of the Joshua Tree Nationalpark.
