“One of the great places to see in the United States”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

You won't see this anywhere else. Please spend at least a whole day here. Beautiful, unique sites to see. Joshua trees, rock formations, desert scenary, hiking, sight seeing.......there are tours that will bring you here from Palm Springs if you don't want to drive yourself. It is very hot in the summer, and can be very windy at times. Stop at a ranger station and get all the maps and info you need first. It's $15 per car. Have fun!

“Amazing high desert”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

Unique joshua trees in abundance, unique rock formations. Great place to hike and sight see. Nothing to dislike. Expect high temps in summer (but it is a dry heat, so somewhat more tolerable than steaming tropics)

“A must to visit the park...but go early in July!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

Great park to see different rock formations and plant life in a desert. We walked two trails...Hidden Valley and Barker Dam. Both were nice to see although July is a tough month to visit. The dam is nearly dry and many animals won't come out when it's hot. If you are visiting in July, go early in morning or at sunset. You have to do the hikes, otherwise it's not worth it to sit in a car like most people did. You won't see as much.

“Great NP for an afternoon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

Beautiful stones and landscapes! Great for an afternoon on your way to/from LA. There are small walks you can do. Of course, you can also do longer hikes, but you get the gist of the NP by just doing one of two 1-2 miles ones.
