We have recently returned from 10 nights all inclusive. The flight was faultless, the time taken for baggage to reach us was minimal and through customs very swiftly. A very short coach transfer to the hotel. Check in was very efficient and a drink on arrival.
The room was adequately sized and well equipped with nothing else required. The room was immaculate, as was the rest of the hotel. There were no complaints at all regarding cleanliness.
The shower was fantastic and the room was immaculate every day on our return, with clean towels. Bath robe and slippers provided. The bed was extremely comfortable. A bonus was the free safe in the room. All staff in the hotel worked extremely hard and tirelessly. They were all very obliging and helpful and we would like to thank everyone for this. Never had to wait more than a couple of minutes at the bar. The pool area is also very clean and well looked after. Mattresses for sunbeds removed every evening and areas thoroughly cleaned. The only complaint (not about the staff I may add) is that the adjustable sunbeds immediately outside the hotel, in front of the pool were reserved by 7a.m despite notices politely asking people not to do so. I feel this puts the staff in a very difficult and uneccessary postion and is not fair on the staff or other guests. People put their towels on these adjustable beds and then either sat there for a while or immediately went into breakfast. The staff had not even had a chance to put the mattresses out. Otherwise there are plenty of sun loungers around the pool area and also on the grassed areas. There was never a problem in obtaining a sunbed of some description (the double mattresses are great and a fitted towelling sheet is provided as well as towels each day). There was a 'help yourself' drinks bar on the grassed area as well as in the hotel, which was great.
Not enough seating most evenings in the outside area.
The food was plentiful, although there was not a great deal of choice for sweet (mainly sponges). Really good quality food. Omlettes freshly cooked every morning. The wine was not great but all other local drinks included as one would expect. The sparkling wine was absolutely fine.
Despite a notice regarding dress code, many gentlemen continued to wear shorts to evening dinner. Possibly the dress code should be more visible in the brochure so they can ensure a long pair of trousers are packed (although most people expect to do so anyway I would think).
The Thomson rep Shirley was very helpful. Choice of optional excursions were good. Elvis the tour guide was fantastic. We also took the bus to Pula to the Amphitheatre and this was well worth it. Only 15 Kuna per person each way or approx 150 kuna in a taxi.
Overall, we would like to thank every member of staff for the service they provide and the cheerful way in which they do so. It was a very relaxing holiday.
