“Great hotel and staff”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

We have recently returned from 10 nights all inclusive. The flight was faultless, the time taken for baggage to reach us was minimal and through customs very swiftly. A very short coach transfer to the hotel. Check in was very efficient and a drink on arrival.
The room was adequately sized and well equipped with nothing else required. The room was immaculate, as was the rest of the hotel. There were no complaints at all regarding cleanliness.
The shower was fantastic and the room was immaculate every day on our return, with clean towels. Bath robe and slippers provided. The bed was extremely comfortable. A bonus was the free safe in the room. All staff in the hotel worked extremely hard and tirelessly. They were all very obliging and helpful and we would like to thank everyone for this. Never had to wait more than a couple of minutes at the bar. The pool area is also very clean and well looked after. Mattresses for sunbeds removed every evening and areas thoroughly cleaned. The only complaint (not about the staff I may add) is that the adjustable sunbeds immediately outside the hotel, in front of the pool were reserved by 7a.m despite notices politely asking people not to do so. I feel this puts the staff in a very difficult and uneccessary postion and is not fair on the staff or other guests. People put their towels on these adjustable beds and then either sat there for a while or immediately went into breakfast. The staff had not even had a chance to put the mattresses out. Otherwise there are plenty of sun loungers around the pool area and also on the grassed areas. There was never a problem in obtaining a sunbed of some description (the double mattresses are great and a fitted towelling sheet is provided as well as towels each day). There was a 'help yourself' drinks bar on the grassed area as well as in the hotel, which was great.
Not enough seating most evenings in the outside area.
The food was plentiful, although there was not a great deal of choice for sweet (mainly sponges). Really good quality food. Omlettes freshly cooked every morning. The wine was not great but all other local drinks included as one would expect. The sparkling wine was absolutely fine.
Despite a notice regarding dress code, many gentlemen continued to wear shorts to evening dinner. Possibly the dress code should be more visible in the brochure so they can ensure a long pair of trousers are packed (although most people expect to do so anyway I would think).
The Thomson rep Shirley was very helpful. Choice of optional excursions were good. Elvis the tour guide was fantastic. We also took the bus to Pula to the Amphitheatre and this was well worth it. Only 15 Kuna per person each way or approx 150 kuna in a taxi.
Overall, we would like to thank every member of staff for the service they provide and the cheerful way in which they do so. It was a very relaxing holiday.

We have just returned from a 7 day holiday at this wonderful hotel. Couldn't really fault anything. Yes, draws in the rooms and better hanging space would have been good but we managed! Dress code for dinning room could be adhered too but these are minor points and in no way spoiled our stay.

The staff were excellent throughout the hotel, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was excellent, always plenty of choice. Al a carte meal was good and enjoyable.

We had no problem getting sunbeds or clean towels. Our room was second floor with sea view and we had no noise problem! Liked location of hotel, very quiet but you could walk to marina and enjoy hustle and bustle if you wished.

Loved the short transfer from airport and that our rooms were ready at 10.30 am
Much better having the time when you get there than be clock watching on your last day.

This is our third couples hotel and all have been different! In Turkey last year most of cooking was done on grills you could see, so all fish and meat was cooked fresh something that could be considered, and there desserts were much better. (More choice)

We would definitely return if we come to this area again. Thanks again for a wonderful holiday.

Room Tip: Worth paying to have sea view.

We have just returned from here and we had a very relaxing holiday the staff could not do enough for you they were all very pleasant and helpful nothing was to much for them. The food was excellent could not fault it. Only thing we found was the room was a bit on the small side, but there was a large balcony we were on top floor and the bats did not bother us, the view was great just love watching the boats and the paragliding. The only thing I will say is that the chairs on the balcony were plastic and not very comfy could do with nice sun loungers as there is plenty of room for these. Over all view of our 10 day stay was that we have come back and booked again for next year.

Have just returned from 2 weeks all inclusive and I have to say one of the friendliest, cleanest hotels we have stayed in. The rooms are comfortable (especially the bed) plenty of storage, tea & coffee and a safe in the room. The bathroom is lovely and the shower is huge! The restaurant area is just that..a restaurant and not a canteen, tables with tablecloths and candles and proper serviettes (these little touches make a difference!) Plenty of choice with food the only negative was the wine on the all inclusive was awful! The pool area is lovely, plenty of sunbeds and we didn't have to get up at 'stupid o clock' to get a bed! Entertainment quite low key, that suits us but obviously you can't get it right for everyone. We were kept awake one night with a very loud beach party but not really a problem if it's a one off! Quite a mixture of ages mostly over 40's however quite a few younger couples there too. All public areas were spotlessly clean and the staff were all so friendly. We went to Porac for the day and had lunch out. Food and drink is so cheap (80p for a glass of good wine, just over a £1 for beer). We also went to Pula by taxi (about £15) well worth a visit. We did plan on going on a few more trips ie Lake Bled, but it was a 3 half hour coach trip to get there! A lot of the trips take a few hours on the coach so check before you go.
There isn't much of a beach and it is pebbles and extremely busy, but we were happy by the pool. There is a lovely harbour and a local church nearby if you want to walk off your dinner!
All in all a lovely holiday and I would definetely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back of the hotel which was quieter. The rooms with sea and pool view are above...

Our first Visit to Croatia. This is an excellent hotel. The cleanest hotel with the most comfortable beds we have ever stayed in. The Thomson reps where excellent as where all the staff at the hotel and I feel it would be wrong to highlight any one of them.

Food was good, location excellent. We stayed for 2 weeks and came home on the 5th August and although we had some thunderstorms with a lot of lightning it did not spoil the holiday.

I requested a room with a good sea view as my wife likes to sit on the balcony quite a lot.We had room 349. I could not fault it thank you for an excellent room.

If I had to make any averse comments it would be that the dress code (long trousers for gentlemen) is not enforced which is annoying and I believe disrespectful (of those that still wore shorts) to the staff and ladies who dressed up for the evening meal.

I thought I would be bored as it is a quite place but the trips out are excellent and there is enough locally with walks and sites to see. I would recommend the Pula trip and Rovinj especially.

Sea view rooms are good (higher the better). I would have preferred 10-11 nights as the ideal holiday for the location but 14 nights was also good.

Some reviews I noted complained about the noise from the entertainment but this finished at 2300 so not a problem.

Would I go again to this hotel, most definitely yes. Thanks to all the staff at the hotel.

Room Tip: Sea view I believe is the best and third floor. The rear rooms overlooking the car park may be quiet...

We booked this last year, and travelled in May for 10 days..this was our first time in Croatia. We had a warm welcome when we arrived at the hotel. Our room was lovely, we had a sea view and it was very peaceful.. The bed was very large, and very comfy. Enough wardrobe space, but I must point out that the showers are HUGE..;) ;) The hotel was very quiet and at first point I, at 40 may of just been the youngest there!!! Though it had only just re opened for the season.. And as days passed more arrived.. The only down side was no day time entertainment, and the evening entertainment wasn't great.. We spent all our nights, after dinner a few beers and early to bed, to watch a bit of English TV on the I pad..
Nothing to complain bout.. Everything, bar entertainment, was idyllic.. Only a bus ride into Pula t see such a beautiful place.
Food was great, although, not a complaint, the all inc bar was limited, and we had to buy some spirits from the local shop..
Staff were brilliant, warm friendly and very accommodating. The Thomas cook reps were brilliant.. The guides on the trips we did, we're brilliant, special mention to Shirley and elvis, brilliant.
Overall, would we go back, Yes... Definitely... Croatia is a beautiful country.. ;)

Room Tip: Only take sterling... The Kuna is very tough to spend Pick a sea view room, great views.. Although...

After a 25 minute transfer from Pula Airport when we were welcomed to Croatia by Shirley, just one of the brilliant Thomson reps who went the extra mile to make our 7 day holiday enjoyable, we arrived at the hotel. Staff from all departments came out to welcome us and we were served drinks and fruit kebabs and serenaded by the resident hotel duo while we waited to check in. We were advised that lunch was being served in the restaurant (all inclusive) and to make our way down when we had settled in.
On arriving at our room which was spotless and had a view of the sea which we had paid a little extra for, we found all the extra little things that you would need; hair dryer, lovely bathroom cosmetics, tea and coffee making facilities, in-room safe, wardrobe hanging space (although you may wish to take extra hangers), wi-fi, balcony with chairs and table and most importantly a huge 6 ft wide bed with memory foam mattress where I had the best 7 nights sleep for a long time, air conditioning and also a brilliant double walk-in shower.
All areas of the hotel were very clean and staff were always clearing away any drinks glasses, plates etc as soon as they were finished with. The pool area too was spotless with a range of loungers, double beds and sun shades. Although there was a notice advising guests not to save loungers, a lot of them had been reserved by 8am. The pool itself was salt water, and beautifully clear.
The food was All-Inclusive and was excellent quality. The hotel also offered one lunch or dinner in the A La Carte restaurant which proved to be a little difficult to book due to the number of guests staying in the hotel.
The evening entertainment was adequate for our needs; resident duo most nights, quizzes organised by the Thomson reps, Istrian Dancers. There were areas of the hotel where you could relax with a drink away from the entertainment if you wanted to. All music stopped at 11pm which was great for a good night's sleep.
The resort of Medulin was busy in places and a little tired. Plenty of road side shops where you could buy anything needed for the beach which was pebbles and a little busy during the day. The sea itself was clean and safe, shallow for a long way out which is great if you have children.
There is a great ice-cream parlour next to the bus stop in a Medulin where you can enjoy a fantastic ice-cream while waiting for the bus to Pula.
Whilst Medulin is a good location to explore the surrounding area of Istria, Rovinj is probably better if you want a holiday based in one resort, with great history, lovely cobbled streets with boutique stile shops and plenty of places to eat.
For friendliness, helpfulness and a relaxing hotel you will find it hard to beat the Parc Plaza Medulin.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 114 : 1st floor at one end of the building with a sea view. Advantage was we only...
