“Fresh and modern appartments”
Reviewed 29 July 2013 via mobile

Modern appartments with all facilities in Vrsa small village. Breakfast not included but for eur7 we found it value for money. Nice bathroom, nice shower and great appartment overall. High standard.
The pedestrian street and cycling path went through the bar! Crowded area as close to a huge camping resort.

We had a very good time in the hotel, which is very close to the harbour of Vrsar, you can reach it only in 10 minutes. We lived in an apartment which was not so spacious, but very clean. We vere lucky because we got a room quite close to the main walking path and the seaside with a beautiful panorama. Parking is not easy. The restaurant's offer is not so special and a bit overpriced.
Good choice for those who would like to enjoy the benefits of staying in a hotel very close to the citycenter. Staff was not so friendly. The small pebble beach is perfect for small kids.

Room Tip: forget the buildings up on the hill unless You want to climb the stairs all day long

Hotel (actually, set of appsrtments) set on a hill, of you want to go to the hotel restaurant you've got to climb, if you want to go to swimming pool, you've got to climb and so on and so on. Problems with parking the car, not enough parking places. There's no identification of quests, so the pool and beach is full of people from outside the hotel. There are much nicer places in Croatia than this hotel.

Vrsar is amazing, the sea is clean and warm, the village is pretty. I wouldn't recommend this hotel though. The food was terrible, the staff really unfriendly and my kids were hassled nonstop for playing around the pool. No balls, blow-up toys, flippers etc allowed by the pool. The ice cream containers were permanently empty, the drinks were rubbish. Breakfast and dinner felt like eating at a school canteen

We didn't know what to expect never having visited Croatia before , so we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this resort. The room was spacious with a separate seating area and small balcony . Extremely clean but not over the top luxurious. The pebble beach was lovely and good for swimming (take sea shoes) . The pool was noisy and always seemed to have some sort of organised activity. Breakfast was reasonable if a little basic. We didn't eat in the hotel at all but explored the gorgeous wee village of Vrsar and the neighbouring Rovinj. The views are spectacular. Would certainly go back. Good value for money

While agreeing with all the positive reviews given to this resort, I think a word of warning is required. The hotel is situated on terraces on the side of a failrly steep hill with the reception at the top and the beach and facilities at the bottom. This means a lot of climbing backwards and forwards from your room/appartment to the restaurant, marina promenade and beach - definitely not suitable for people with walking difficulties. The escalators mentioned in the hotel brochure were closed during our visit. Full marks for cleanliness, not so full marks for food - but there are plenty of restaurants along the sea front and in the village although the village is also perched on a steep hill. Luckily there is a tourist 'train' that takes you almost to the top.

Belvedere is an excellent resort with very polished environment. Breakfast is typical for a tourist resort, nothing special but the service is very good. Unfortunately dinner is definately not worth your pennies. Why don't they shimmer the lightning? Feeling is like eating at a hospital cantina. During evenings the terras bar plays music suprisingly loud, with the program clearly targeted for the german speaking seniors.

Rooms are very nice indeed, spacious and especially the ones starting with 1 (ours was 118) are just by the sea with magnificient views. You can watch the sea while showering! Some apartments/rooms require a sweaty climbing up the hill(at least >400). As one reviewer said: "You need to be fully mobile", so true. There are no rails for baby trollies etc. So you end up carrying the trollies all the time, as the resort has plenty of stairs. The beach in front of the hotel is very well maintained (blue flag).

Vrsar is a very small village, restaurants by the sea are offering very touristy menu's and you need some footwork to find a decent / authentic restaurant. The one opposite side of the bay (Trost) has good service and food. Also some Konoba's away from the seaside are offering excellent roasted pork. Old town is definately worth sightseeing (forget the train). Vrsar is suitable for couples and families seeking for a relaxing time in sun. Porec and Rovinj offer plenty more choice in restaurants, cafes and architecture. Local bus is an easy way to Porec in 15 min, so its also a good choice to spend evenings from Vrsar.

Room Tip: Choose a room >100, as they are just by the sea and do not need so much climbing.
